Default Please support/reelect Joel Friedman in upcoming NRA Board member elections...

Fellow Gunnies,

My friend Joel Friedman - a tireless RKBA supporter - is up for reelection to the NRA Board of Directors.

Joel's currently the only California board member up for election. We need his voice on the NRA Board not only because he's Californian in 'denied territory' here, but because he's a helluva smart guy "deep in the fight".

In these elections, one of the ways to make your vote count *more* is to vote for *fewer* individuals - i.e., less dilution. [The famous 'name' movie & sports folks get enough 'name recognition' votes they don't need additional ones, and their 'work output' is - generally - less than that of the 'committed no-names'.] And it's better to vote "for" someone like Joel than it is to, say, worry about Joaquin Jackson drama, etc.

To be eligible to vote, you either need to be a Life Member or have 5 years of continuous NRA membership.

Joel's sent a message to his friends:

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I am running for re-election to the NRA Board of Directors and am currently on the ballot that is included in your March 2013 NRA magazine if you are a voting member.

Although I have been endorsed by the NRA Nominating Committee and many other groups, individuals, and associations, I need your help if Iím to get elected. As you know, Iím not a celebrity or a sports star. Iím simply a businessman who has been a grassroots-level Second Amendment activist for more than two dozen years Ė right here in California. Only the candidates who finish in the top twenty five positions will become elected to the NRA Board.

During my many years as a Membersí Council President and NRA Board Member and Committee Member, Iíve been a consistent voice of support for NRAís efforts in California. My no-compromise philosophy is well known throughout the NRA.

I will need you to do two things if Iím to be re-elected:
1) Vote for me
2) Send this message to every firearms owner and 2nd Amendment supporter you know

During the next few years, we will see unprecedented challenges and attacks to the Second Amendment on the state, local, and national levels. If you allow me to represent you on the NRA Board of Directors, I promise that I will try my best to never let you down.

Below is the short biography that is printed in the NRA magazine this month. If you have any further questions about my qualifications or positions on issues, please do not hesitate to contact me personally.

Thank you, in advance, for your support. Iím honored that you might consider me to represent you.

Joel Friedman

Is the key leader on the team of lawyers, activists and scientists fighting bans on traditional lead-based ammunition. Longtime fundraiser for NRA-ILA. Friends of NRA supporter. Highly effective in defeating anti-gun candidates for political office. Testifies in front of committees against illegal gun controls and supporting the right to hunt. I agree with Bill's assessment, Joel is a great guy and a constant advocate for us here in CA. He is also personally involved at every opportunity. There is no better candidate.

I'm going to add a '+3' to this, Joel is a tireless 2A supporter, a very smart man and an awesome advocate for 2A in California.

He's also a friend and a man I trust.

I'll add my voice to those singing Joel's praises. We need to keep him there on the NRA Board. Vote for him if you are an NRA Life or 5-year annual member. And if you are not, become one!

Bill,

Are there other candidates you would recommend voting for in addition to Joel?

He's got my vote. Another that'd strongly recommend is Carol Bambery, incumbent who works hard for NRA on committees, NFA shooter, gun lawyer.

Also Steve Shreiner, silver star, bronze star with V for valor, activist.

Already marked him on my ballot....but I am also nominating Uncle Ted and Willie Robertson to get some redneck blood on the board.

OK, that's five. Just need 20 more... New NRA voter here.

There was a thread a while back about NOT reelecting one of the board members, but I can't find it.

you dont have to vote for all the positions. in fact it is better to only vote for those candidates you really want to win, as it makes your vote for them stronger (less competition from others).

Found this in another thread. Joaquin Jackson from Texas.

"Do not vote for Jackson. See a thread about him in this forum. Several years ago he did an interview where he said civilians should be limited to 5 rnd mags".
