Default Ruger Blackhawk Stainless CA LEGAL?

Hi. I checked with the DOJ roster (http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/), and I could not find Ruger on the list. I am interested in a Ruger Blackhawk Stainless Steel in .357 mag. I see them on gunbroker, but due of my legal ignorance, I have yet to bid.

I think single action revolvers are roster exempt.

Per 12133PC, certain handguns are Roster-exempt. These include:
Single-action Revolvers, capable of holding 5 or more rounds, with 3 minimum barrel length and 7.5
minimum overall length when assembled.

Single-shot Pistols, with 6 minimum barrel length, and a minimum overall length of 10.5 when assembled.

(lengths measured parallel to bore)

Got one myself

Legal and rostered have different meanings.

You need to look for the official company name, 'Sturm, Ruger'

the details do not matter until the Governor signs or allows the bill to become law.

Ask CA law questions in the How CA Laws Apply to/Affect Me Forum
- most questions that start 'Is it legal ...' go there.

All currently manufactured Ruger single-action revolvers satisfy these criteria and therefore are exempt from the California requirements. These revolvers may be purchased in California even though they do not appear on the California Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale

I should just program a bot to do it for me. It really does confuse new members though.

Just be careful, a lot of sellers on GB won't do business in California. Even if it's perfectly legal
