Default NRA ballot issue

I received mine yesterday. One bit of advice: don't vote for the entire 25 allowed votes, unless you actually have 25 people you rate equally. Looking over the ballot, I see five people who I think are very important to the cause, another 12 who are important, and the rest are OK, nothing wrong with them, but not of especially high value. If I vote for 25, I risk one of the "OK, nothing wrong with them" bumping off one of my "very important to the cause" candidates. I intend to vote only for the five "very important" ones.

Probably the most important of those is Carol Bambery, who has a webpage here:

She cofounded Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Ownership, sued and struck down a city restrictions on concealed carry, serves on a bunch of NRA committees, heads its annual legal seminar, and shoots NFA.

Another I'd rate highly is Steve Schneider, a "Nam vet with silver and bronze stars, and one serious activist.

A third I'd rate highly is Joel Friedman, chair of CRPA's Legislative Policy Committee.

Folks who stand out, in addition to the above: Sandra Froman, former president, Lance Olson, Robert Sanders (he formerly worked in either ATF or Treasury, and now spends the rest of his life tormenting them as a pro-gun attorney), Jim Porter, who is first Vice President and chairs Legal Affairs Committee.

As such, a strategy to get one on the BoD involves voting for just one, as additional votes for others water down your particular candidate in the end. However since it is important to get one OFF this time, I recommend voting for 25 others. It is important to get Jackson OFF. In the end, the ones with the most votes stay. We need to make sure 25 have more votes than he does
