Default 2013 CA SB 475 - Leno - Agricultural District 1-A: firearm sales at the Cow Palace

Would require prior approval from the board of supervisors of both the County of San Mateo and the City and County of San Francisco for a contract to be approved for a gun show at the Cow Palace.

http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/fa...arch_keywords=

Quote:
SB 475, as introduced, Leno. Agricultural District 1-A: firearm sales at the Cow Palace.
Existing law divides the state into agricultural districts, and establishes that District 1-A is the County of San Mateo and the City and County of San Francisco. Existing law generally establishes the powers and duties of a district agricultural association, and also generally regulates the transfer of firearms. A violation of the statutes governing agricultural districts is a misdemeanor.
This bill would require the prior approval of the board of supervisors of both the County of San Mateo and the City and County of San Francisco for an officer, employee, operator, or lessee of District 1-A to contract for, authorize, or allow an event at which a firearm or ammunition is sold at the Cow Palace. By creating a new crime, the bill would impose a state-mandated local program.
The California Constitution requires the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by the state. Statutory provisions establish procedures for making that reimbursement.
This bill would provide that no reimbursement is required by this act for a specified reason.

A perfect opportunity for SF to cover another private enterprise with red tape. As I pass the Jack Tar Hotel almost daily, I have a constant reminder of how asking SF for "approval" creates an ungodly horde of city departments seeking "donations" in exchange for bureaucratic favoritism.

Unfortunately, gun show folks don't have the same resources as to fight back as Sutter Health does.

This just made the 10PM news on channel 2 tonight.

Didn't mean to revive a zombie thread, but it's better then creating a new one.

Update is as seen here: http://www.ibabuzz.com/politics/2013...ace-gun-shows/

Do I like アニメ (anime)?

Hell yes I do...and now without my booze. I can remember everything, but as for social gatherings...well...

Not a zombie thread - you posted right where it needed to be. The separate threads for each bill are there for the updates. Thank you for watching out for us.

The DA for SF, forgot the dueshbags name, connected the dotsdots like my 4 year old would: 'there have been over 75 gun shootings in the past X-days in this neighborhood (Cow Palace area).'

Couple of questions and counter arguments:

1. Do dirt bags get their guns, in the area, from the CP gun show? No, because most are felons whom are using guns and are more than like stolen firearms.

2. The data shows, there is no corrolation between gun voilence and guns shows.

Default I hate hearing Gascon talk

Sets my teeth on edge. How he managed to become DA is open to speculation, but he had a very short term as Police Chief before he landed that gig. I wonder if he was any better a DA than Harris.
