Default Loading Ruger Mark III Mag Question

I am new to Calguns and first time handgun owner. I have a Ruger Mark III.
Enjoy shooting the gun, but mags are a pain to load. Holding down the spring
button is a pin in the thumb. Is there a simpler way to do this?

Did a Google search, but no luck. May not have been asking for the right thing.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The Mcfadden is a miracle that opperates on magic and fairy dust. Worth every penny. I highly recomend it. Nice to load a full 10 round mag in less then 10 seconds.

Welcome to CG and congrates on your handgun purchase.
I have a device from HSK that I bought from www.midwayusa.com
Works OK but a little tight getting it over the mag. Also bought a device
from
http://borelsports.com
Simple device that gets the job done.
Both are inexpensive and a real thumb saver.

Do yourself a favor and get a few for your friends. With this vendor:
http://zaliznockindustries.com/outdoors.htm
you get a "bulk" discount and you can pick your colors.
At my club, I did one buy and sold all of them, but I didn't get to keep one for myself. Did another buy, only this time I kept 2 for myself

Or you can use a spent shell casing in a pinch. But nothing loads quicker than the products mentioned earlier.

Look into a Ultimate Clip Loader. Best Investment for any Mark Pistol, period.

Will the McFadden do Mk1 mags? Does not list them.

No, it does not. Doesn't work for my Colt Huntsman either. You'll have to find other magazine loaders for those.

Ultimate clip loader helped me shoot double the ammo in the same amount of time. Is this a good thing?

For range work I like the McFadden (Ultimate clip loader). For field work, I use
the Borel Sports tool. The only disadvantage to the McFadden is you can eat up alot of ammo real fast. In this day and age, could be a problem.
Both sysems are inexpensive, best to have both.

I have the Ultimate"Clip" Loader and sad to say most of the others as well. The HKS is a cheap and effective way to accomplish pain free loading.
HKS Speedloader
This guy will move the button down for easy loading but unlike others will actually hold in place for effortless loading. When buying make sure it designates your gun. "R" designation for Ruger. " B" Browning etc.

Bought one of those for my Buckmark and still can't get it to function properly, so I just hold the follower button down.

Not sure if the way I do it is the correct way but I can never get all 10 rounds to load when I push the mag in. So I usually give it a couple of shoves and then the mag get's filled.

Used this one and worked for me. Inexpensive and saves my thumb from abuse.

Default Borel Sports Ruger Mag Loading Tool

Thanks to all for the plethora of replies.

After considering all the options, I went with the Ruger Magazine Loading Tool from BorelSports.com. While the McFadden Ultimate Clip Loader looks cool, it is almost 2x as expensive as the one from Borel Sports, and the one from Borel Sports has no moving parts and fits nicely in my jeans pocket.

Once I get it and try it, I will post a review for the group.

The McFadden Ultimate Clip Loader is the reason I burn through so much ammo at the range, it takes like 3 seconds to reload the mag.

No doubt! Not to mention it keeps your hands clean. You don't have to touch a round! And not to dispute the think tank that came up with the name, but shouldn't it be the Ultimate Mag Loader?
