My best option..... Spiderco leaf blade knife and a good pair of shoes to run when a criminal comes a knocking.

I live in a free state so I can share my EDC. Springfield XD-S carried in a N82 Tactical tuckable IWB holster.

While I'm at work, Ruger LCP in a desantis Nemesis pocket holster in my right front pocket. I only do this because I work on cars and carrying IWB would be in the way and uncomfortable laying on top of truck engines or on a creeper all day long.

My newest favorite rig is a Glock 26 in a Raven Vanguard 2. I also frequently carry a S&W 642 in the original Vanguard.

They make excellent holster, but waiting period is very long..
Check TTgunleather, they make excellent holster as well.

I've been using a Foxx "little foxx" w/ my Beretta Nano for a few months and really like it a lot. Prior to that it was a full-size White Hat kydex/leather hybrid (just like Crossbreed and the like) and, while that is a great holster, if you are carrying a smaller gun like a Shield, XD-S, maybe M&PC, or anything smaller than these you definitely don't need all that leather and multiple belt clips. Going to this smaller one is much easier to put on and take off, and it feels less noticeable. I also use one of their all-kydex mag holsters for my spare mag.

I still use the White Hat for larger pistols. It allows for the kydex part to be swapped, so I have a kydex piece for a few of my guns and use the same leather backing. Pretty sweet. But... I like carrying the slim, small Nano as I can conceal it fully under any clothing and I don't notice its weight or thickness in my belt so I haven't carried any other pistol for a long time. It's also an extremely reliable, shockingly accurate little gun that I trust to function 100%.

I keed, I keed! Just pimping Andrews Leather. He's got some interesting stuff, like if you're a 1911 fan and you're worried about being caught in the wrong place for the next big riot:

He also offers some crazy pimp exotic skins, if that's your thing.
As you can probably tell from the model, he's been doing this since the '70s.

Except for the fact that I can only carry when I'm in a free state these days, most of the time my EDC hasn't basically changed from what I carried in 1982: some sort of .38 snubby in a shoulder, pancake or simple IWB holster (I've probably tried 100 different holsters over the years), folding knife, flashlight and an extra 6 rounds of ammo in a speedstrip. When facing what I view as a "higher risk" situation I usually shift to a "full size" 9mm auto in a shoulder holster (typically a Browning HP until 1996, CZ100 until 2012 and an S&W MP9c these days) and two spare magazines. Of late I've been trying a N82 IWB holster with the MP9c which seems to be working reasonably well.

When I can get one (they become available at a reasonable cost in CA or we move out of this hellhole) I will probably retire the snubby and the MP9c from carry use and shift to a 9mm S&P Shield in an IWB plus one or two spare mags as an "all the time" carry.

I find IWB holsters better for concealment but a good pancake holster is far more comfortable. In general, however, for comfort my first choice is a good shoulder holster but that requires considerable "dressing the part" compared to a belt holster which conceals well under something like an aloha shirt. With any kind of belt carry, a good quality gun belt is probably more important than the holster itself.

XD-S in a OWB Alessi CQC-S, otherwise all my holsters are IWB Milt Sparks VM2. May carry either the Springfield EMP, G19 or M&P9c. Surefire Fury light and Spyderco Para Military 2 blade.

I'm preparing when we get a court ruling that enables us here in Socal to ccw. Just want to know if anyone has used the Ares ranger belt. I've worn it as my edw belt with my casual attire which is usually bdu shorts for about a year now. It's very comfortable and actually helps support my lower back since I have a couple slipped and herniated discs. I'll wear it with my custom IWB leather holster for full size gun which was initially made for my P220 combat with TLR-2s light attached but also fits my SP-01 Tactical with that light also, while on my own enclosed property. I'll also use the Black Hawk Serpa owb paddle holster for my P229 or CZ P-01. I'm sure it'll also fit my P-06 when I get it transferred here via SSE. I have it in large which gives it just enough slack to wear an iwb holster but may order another one in xl.

Most of the time a S&W640 with Carry Clip appendix,

otherwise a G31 or G23 in a Alabama Hooker appendix.
