Default Big 5 in Covina said its too late to release a firearm....

Today my brother inlaw and I went to pick up his mossberg 590 from Big 5 in Covina, we got there at 8:30pm and they close at 9:00pm, after about 15 minutes of waiting patiently the assistant manager comes and ask us what is it we needed help with, and we said we were here to pick up a fire arm he said it was too late to release the fire arm. We argued that we have been standing here for 15 minutes waiting patiently and its doesnt take long to go over the paper work/serial numbers/drivers licence numbers and a couple signatures and were done. He argued that its alot more than that and too close to closing so there too much going on in the store for him to go over it all.

Are they allowed to do that? Not very happy with this sitituation even thought it wasn't for me it was for my brother inlaw.

Basically he told you that he was too busy to humor you, I got your money already anyway, so take off.
I was selling a lower couple of weeks ago and went to Big 5 for the PPT. Guy working there freaked and said come back Monday because they have to call DOJ to see if it's ok to transfer the lower. Went to the next closest gun store and asked about a PPT the guy said no then asked if I was transferring the lower I had in my hand. Told him yes and then he said ok, I just didn't have any more room in my safe for a whole gun LOL .. go figure
Big 5 should stick to selling shoes and bats and balls.
