It will accept either. The commercial threads in smooth and the mil spec it a bit snug.

Yeah... I checked out one of his lowers when I was at his shop. Nice stuff. I don't need another one, but man they are tempting. I may have to pick one up for a spare.

The height of the threads... one has a flat top on the threads, the other are "pointed" to say.

Even though there's a locking ring, I'm all down for it being snug.

The difference between a commercial buffer tube and a mil spec is the OD or outside diameter of the threads. On the mil-spec the threads are approx .015" to .02" larger than the commercial, while the commercial tube OD is larger than the mil-spec. This is all due to the manufacturing process.

I would like to know about lower parts kits. Can I use a standard LPK, or are there non standard parts I'll need?

Standard LPK will work fine; all other non-standard parts (set screws for the various features) are included as well as hex tools.

So, a couple more questions...the 20% remaining machine work, is it the standard fire control pocket and pin hole job like any other 80% lower? and I want to find out about build parties...anybody with cnc capabilities planning to do these?

Yes, the remaining machine work is identical to all the other 80% lowers out there. The beauty is our additional features, such as the upper tensioning set screw and trigger reset tension screw, all work with the standard remaining operations performed.

We can't rent machine time from our manufacturing shop for finishing services for legal reasons, but any competent build party host armed with one of our jigs will be able to offer quality finishing services.

Orders will start shipping out on the 7th in the order that they were placed on our website. Anodized pieces may run a couple of days behind as we have to bring them in batches to our anodizer. I really appreciate the patience and faith our initial customers have placed in us - we are on track and you will have them in your hands soon!

Default Norcal jigs & party?

Anyone in Norcal buying a jig for party use?

I can't wait for shipments to begin tomorrow... I wonder if I am number 10 in line or number 1000

I know we have some jig orders that will be heading North; I believe at least one Calgunner in Norcal is getting setup for BP, hopefully he will chime in when he is ready.

We have kept this initial offering limited to Calguns and just in this thread, so you are much closer to number 10 than 1000

Yep. TahoeTim, I PM'd ya. And I would assume your order# would be an indicator where you are in line. Of course those orders could be for 1 or 10. Lol.

Same status as my earlier post. The ATF has reviewed it and determined it is not a firearm. As for getting the letter from the FTB, it is in process and it will move at "government speed" - as soon as it is in hand it will be posted. The letter mainly gives Jimi and I an extra layer of security as the manufacturer of the product. As a purchaser, you must still follow all Federal, State and Local firearms laws.

I've just put 1136 in the mail, with the caveat that anodized are running a couple of days behind the non-anodized. For shipments where a mix of "in the white" and anodized was requested, I'm shipping the non-anodized ones out and will send the remainder when they are ready at no additional shipping cost.

Once we get our production numbers caught up on these I will get the .308 prototype done and tested. I'm hoping to have it done in about a month.

Yes, as long as it is dimensionally compliant and has a zero round sled in the magwell to conform to the SSE exemption from the safe handgun roster when you mate the upper and lower together. You may then reconfigure it with a 10 round magazine afterwards. It must also have a bullet button style device as with any featured rifle/pistol.

The Calguns flowchart is a great resource to build a compliant pistol; understand that my brief description of the process is not legal advice. It would be best to finish your lower first before purchasing a pistol upper if you currently own AR-15 rifles to avoid any confusion on constructive possession of an SBR.
