Default Policing your brass at Reed's Indoor Range.

I will be buying a reloading press in a few months and was wondering how tough Reeds is about picking up your own brass and how are you guy/gals marking the cases to know which are yours.

Don't know if I want a fancy catcher. I know the range rules state that you must let the cashier know at check in.

Thanks!

Been there many many times and I've never seen anyone make an issue of it. If anything you'll need to watch out for others stepping on the cases and crushing them. Beyond that, I see guys sweep all kind of brass (theirs, or not) into their bag and make off with it. No problems whatsoever.

I have also seen folks with brass catching nets. I'm not sure how well they work or how much they cost...

Awesome, glad to hear they aren't militant about it. Are you guys marking your brass with a pen or are you just picking up your caliber shells that are around you? I took a red Sharpie and put a red line across the back of my shells but if I don't need to, all the better.

Thanks!

Never marked mine and can't say I've picked up anyone else's who were marked either.

I just sweep the stall I will be using clean and then when you are done shooting just sweep in a pile and dump in you brass bag. I have never had a problem at any of the Bay Area ranges. Reeds is a good place to go, I do let them know I will be collecting my brass sometimes.

I pick up all of the 45 when I'm there, and no one say anything.

I pickup whatever doesn't fly into my catcher. Usually from my buddy's Glock cause it keeps hitting him in the head.

I went with this just cause it works on the bench (AR) and can be tripod mounted. Kinda pricy though.

We don't care about picking up your own brass, just as long as you don't go into other peoples lanes and pick up their brass.

I've picked up my brass every time I've been there. Nobody has ever said anything. But note that I've also been careful to be obvious that I'm not sweeping up everybody's brass...just the stuff around my stall.

Great suggestions thanks guys. I did police my brass at Reeds today using the common sense tips you guys gave. No one hassled me and I think I got about 70% of my brass. Can't wait to get my Dillon in a few months. I figure I'd wait until the madness stops so I can actually get components, in the meantime, I'll build up my brass supply and spend time sorting it.
