Most of the old style ones that don't have a grenade launcher on them are CA legal. When people put new pistol grip stocks on them, that's where the problems tend to come up.

I have some for sale here, and all are CA legal.

1. Should have 10-rd fixed mag
2. Wood stock.
3. No Large "grenade launcher" attached at muzzle if it is a Yugoslavian 59/66..
4. No "glowing night sights on barrel if a Yugo 59/66.
Take a look at the For Sale section here for C&R-eligible face-to-face transfer SKS..

Bayonet is not an issue. GO to the CALGUNS home page and follow the AW flowchart

never heard of a problem with night sights

generally if it has a fixed 10 round mag you can do what you want california wise (922r varies)

the grenade launcher has been determined to be a destructive device in ca so they often have the (big-5 brake)

this is wild.

Please expand on #2 and #4

referring to #3, would a small grenade launcher be ok? or would a grenade launcher on a non yugo be ok?

Those of you saying no aftermarket stock or pistol grip are spreading FUD. The only way to have a CA legal SKS is if it has a fixed 10 or 5 round magazine. Once you have a fixed magazine you can add all the other evil features you want. You do have to follow 922(r) but that is easy enough to do.
