Hush. This is a secret, wait until I buy a few of those stocks before you say anything else, lol

I have 2, 44's and 4, 91/30's.

Right, see? 91/30s might be exhausted now, there was never an endless supply. Depending who you talk to there was either 13 million or 17 million ever produced. Just in USA alone, if only 4 million people own four each, thats the entire world supply. So where did all the Mosins go? Ask the guy who owns four.

But obviously there are world buyers and those who also bought crates. Lets for fun say there were never more than 2 million in the USA. Four each, and thats 500,000 USA buyers. Out of 100,000,000 USA general gun owners, 500,000 Mosin buyers isnt unreasonable.

In other words, supply isnt tight because of a dry spell or some panic shelf cleaning, its because the supply has been exhausted. If the importer in Washington rounds up some more from the world market there may be a few more coming to USA and then thats it until the "four" owners start parting with them, probably at high prices. And thats fine because then a brand new .308 or 30-06 will look much more attractive.

I'll still be looking for a 91/30 but i wont hold my breath and i wont pay $350 or $500 for one either.

I agree with you completely... I dont think there is a endless supply of them either. I am sure Russia sold then to anyone that would pay. I am sure there are tons of them floating around 3rd world countries for their military. I would not be surprised if there were no more large imports of any significant quantity for M91/30's.

I just schecked my inventory list, sorry I was wrong.. I have 56 Mosins listed in my inventory.

Investment. People were buying by the crate well before panic buying started.

Personally i wouldnt need a panic to buy something in quantity, i have my own scores of psychoses to take care of that for me. Havent you ever bought something and then bought a second and third "just because?" Then it built up in you, you felt a crazy need for another one, then another and you didnt even know why because by then it all engulfed you?

But you know....the odd thing some people are referring to is that despite what i said before Mosins have been in the market, seemingly unloved, all along. Yes i know there were piles and stacks of them sitting there with no apparent buyers, with 7.62 ammo piled up straight through the ceiling and THAT gave people the impression there was an endless supply or at least the most likely buyers already bought their 56 and so the market was saturated with broken down old passe weapons and no good homes to go to. Suddenly, all MIA with no apparent reason. I know it seems and is, odd. But the truth is that in those years you got so used to stumbling over those crates, wondering when the housekeeper was going to clean up the trash, those inventories were steadily declining. By the time of Sandy Hook there were far fewer available than we thought because it never registered in our minds that other people were actually quietly or unquietly buying them everyday of the year. The shop sold five, then replenished the pile, giving the impression the stacks remained the same everyday.

So the real title of this thread should not be asking where all the Mosins went, its, where did those extremely few remaining Mosins go? Unlike what a poster said before, there couldnt possibly be warehouses full of 91/30s just waiting to re-flood the market. A better statement would be, crap, i had 50 years to buy one, what in the world was i doing?

Speaking of Classic Firearms, they say on their site that Russians report the end of the line and that remaining rifles are not likely to include full accessories anymore. Also CF says many remaining 91/30s have been molested in one form or the other and supplies of them cherrypicked. What one may buy now isnt the same as one would have expected just a year ago so they might not be the best buy today. Is all this true? NO IDEA.

Personally, I thought buying mosins in crates were like collectable card games. You keep the most desirable ones and the unwanted ones are for projects, shooters, or resold cheaply.

I know where all the Mosins went - all the moronic Bubba clowns destroyed them with assinine "sporterizing" or "refinishing" crimes against history.

One day, the sad ruins of these once proud rifles will sit overpriced and unwanted in the gunshop used rifles racks like the chopped up 03's, Arisakas, Mausers, etc..... That is, if there are even gunshops in the future after President Chelsea Clinton bans all private possession of firerams.

I'll let them sporterize until they puke if they keep the shops open.

Where have all the mosins gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the mosins gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the mosins gone?
panic buyers have picked them every one
When will they ever learn?

For your production totals, factor in ~50% loss rate.

Century has 91/30s in stock again. Also laminated stock and Type 53s.

The 91/30s cost a little more now than the Type 53s.

Enter the number of 91/30s you really want in "Qty".

We're sorry, only 317 of 'Russian 1891/30 7.62x54R Mosin Nagant Rifle with Bayonet' (F3MOSIN9130) currently

We're sorry, only 292 of 'Russian 1891/30 7.62x54R Mosin Nagant Rifle with Bayonet' (F3MOSIN9130) currently

It's pretty cool watching the stock go down so quickly. Just feel that Mosin love.

I just placed an order from SOG for (3) Type 53 Chinese and you get them for $94.00 when you buy 3. An then called Century and placed an order for 3 Mosins at $109 a piece since SOG wanted $259.00 for their Mosins. Century is shipping my Mosins at end of month when they come in.

Right, though im trying to cut costs, FFLs would would still be charging full price for each one, now it adds up when im buying 3 or 5.

No idea when my license will arrive. Is there someone with a C&R now who would be willing to take delivery when i buy/pay rifles and transfer to me when the license arrives?
