Default Walmart Ammo Restocking Window Times

So I talked to the young ammo guy at my local Walmart (young guys are always the cool ones) and I asked.......

Me: "would you know when ammo is restocked"

Him: "usually every two weeks on a Tuesday between 9pm - 12:30 am"

With that large window. Would anyone care to share there best time frame of success?

I'm gonna try tonight.

I got a completely different story. The stock girl at the Walmart closest to me told me "we get stuff in every night. We have no idea what is actually coming until it arrives." I have no idea what to think.

Last week the Wal*Mart closest to me got a re-stock somewhere between Monday-Tuesday. I figured that would carry over to this week, but when I went in just for the hell of it on Sunday morning I could tell they had just gotten yet another restock. I think it's sporadic, and they typically don't know what they're getting. Or.........they could be telling us that just to screw with us, lol. The thing to do would be to get in tight with the managers and have them let you know what's coming-I'd imagine that they might be able to tell what's coming in or not...

good job, noob. now all of the novices on here know when to buy it...

delete your thread or you will be complaining in the next coming weeks why there is no ammo, even during shipment times.

Years ago I worked at k-mart in sporting goods. We had no idea when specific items would come in. When we put the last of the item on a shelf we put a red dot sticker on the price. A lady with a scanner was supposed to scan any tag with a red dot to reorder. Not all employees were using the red dots and the scanner lady may miss an item. So we really had no idea. However, I learned when confronted if I said "I don't know" the customer would likely get all pissy. So most of us would make stuff up. "Oh yea, we'll be getting those on (insert your day off)!"

That's not to say Walmart employees are making stuff up but I wouldn't bank on what they say concerning inventory.

The guy at the Glendora WM through a fit when I asked him about ammo shipments. He first said they were totally unpredictable. I asked if he thought they got at least 1 or 2 a week. he than said 'you're trying too get me to tell you. If I tell you, than I got 15 guys breathing down my neck when it comes in, no way'. He than suggested I call the store everyday.
I thanked him and left. Personally, i think he was wound too tight too be working around ammo.

Walmarts get multiple trucks per day and no one knows what's on them until they unload it.

Lets face it, most Walmart employees couldn't care less our ammo needs. If they sell a pallet of ammo or leave it all in the back, they get paid the same.

When ever the truck driver backs up to the dock. Seek out the Walmart truck at the 76 truck stop and ask him.

As one of those guys that calls/visits Wal-marts daily in search of ammo, I can tell it's whenever the truck shows up. I've seen ammo come in all days of the week.

not sure what Wallyworld calls them , but you need to talk to a "IMA" inventory management associate , they are the ones that knows what coming and when ....

Mission Failed. Restocking time was correct just no ammo I needed @ Industry.

A bunch of 380, 30-06, shotgun shells. Just hate going to the range and not replenishing the supply.

Thanks for positive responses.

I been at Walmart when they break down the pallet to stock the ammo. It might with a case with one box of ammo inside. The employees do not know what they have ammo wise until they open all the cases. Sometimes it's a full case, few boxes or just one box of ammo. It is all random on the ordering.

Around here;
Walmart- Tuesday & Saturday, restock between 8am & 10pm
Big 5- Monday, lines start at 8am, store opens at 10am

Fortunately I don't need any.
Usually I just ask for future purchases.
Damn shame people are still panicking.

They are all random. Wal-mart does their restock at night. When the ammo actually comes in is a mystery as they only wait for what comes from the manufacturers. I've been to some walmart where the worker said its been 3 weeks and no new stock of ammo came in.

At another wal-mart they say just keeping coming in the morning to check because there is no set schedule.

Of the three I've visited, they all tell me its daily, and its hit or miss. Just come in or call around 9AM. If I'm not running late, I'll swing buy and stock up on what they have, though my purchases are becoming less frequent as my stocks are replenished. I'm stocked well enough on .45 and .40 that I the only thing I'm looking for now is 5.56 and 9mm, (and I refuse to buy 3 boxes of 20 rounds) so I'm in the wait and see mode, cutting bck on my AR trigger time.

My only luck was about 9:30 am on a monday. Grabbed the only two boxes of 40. I left there the two boxes of 45. Just one data point.

My buddy had been working the hunting depo. At my local wally world for 5 yrs and this is what he tells me. He also says they never place an order because the warehouse never gets it right. Its all random.
what he does say is that shipments arrive at night and he stocks in the morning.

San Diego Inventory Manager told me there is a full pallet of .223 coming in tomorrow around lunch time.

See how stupid it looks when we try to figure out the logistical nightmare that is Wal Mart? Above is a joke btw.

Really want to know? Get in good with the stock crew and have them shoot you a text when they see it on a skid getting ready to be stocked on a shelf, then go there immediately. That's the only way to know for sure.

The guy at the Azusa walmart told me to call around 730 every night. He said their shipment comes in around 7pm, but it'll usually take 30-40 minutes to get it on the shelf cause they need a manager.

Duarte Walmart consistently has nothing unless you're looking for .410, .22-250, or 7mm.

I was told by an "old timer" employee of my local Walmart that the delivery dates are a "myth". He said that the stores get their ammo shipments at random dates and times. He said whenever ammo gets to the warehouse, it is distrubuted to the stores.

Just got back from the Walmart on Pleasant Grove in Roseville. They just got a shipment in of .223 Tula and 40 box Winchester .223. 9mm,.40, .45 ACP, .308 Tula and some Winchester 50 round boxes.

It was the largest shipment the guys said in awhile and it wasn't much. Maybe 3-10 boxes of each.

He said their shipments are random, but I've found Tues and Wed between 4:30-6pm has worked for me. Downside is they have the 3 box maximum now.

I worked at Wal-Mart in sporting goods when they still sold guns. Also worked night receiving. Stock comes in every night. When I worked there, they had an idea of how much merch was on the truck and how many trucks were coming, but usually didn't have an idea of what was on the truck. I don't know if that's changed since, but from my talking to friends that still work there, it sounds like it's still the case. Trucks also come during the day, but it's usually perishables. I don't ever remember ammo coming during the day, it was always on the night truck.

Night receiving would unload the truck (usually completed by midnight) and then put up all the stock on the floor. Stuff like guns, ammo and tobacco came straight off the truck and straight into the safe room. The morning shift workers (usually the dept manager) would get the stock from the safe room and put it in the locked cabinets on the floor themselves. They usually had a 6a-2p shift.

This will go a long way towards unlocking my Walmart ammo stalking skills.

Nice thing about Wal-Mart is that at least they aren't raising their prices to more than double like everyone else. I've seen bulk cheap 223 going for $18.99 for 20. I laughed at the guy and walked away.
