Default 7 days till pick up: M&P 15-22 and M&P 22

About a month back a picked up an M&P 15 sport then the craze happens and ammo is hard to find/expensive. So last weekend I started the waiting period the on 22 version M&P 15-22 and decided just to go with it and also purchased the M&P 22. Pretty excited about it, figure I can get some good practice in with the 15-22 and save the .223 ammo. Now if M&P 15-22 magazines would magically rain from the sky, all my problems would be solved. Okay not all of them.

15-22 is a fun little rifle. Very light and accuracy is decent. My nine year old smashes coke cans at 100 yards with it. And it's cheap to shoot! It operates just like its bigger counterpart without the buffer of course. If you have little ones, theyll love it too

Both the 15-22 and M&P 22 are a blast to shoot, hopefully you will be able to find some ammo.

Nice!
I had a S&W 22A, which was a fun pistol but I didn’t love the mag release and the small slide. I wanted something I could practice on with the full slide and practice reloading and shoot all day. I can’t do that with my .40 XD.

And the 15-22 makes sense. I am super it will pay for ammo since I am not using up all my .223 in its big brother.

congrats on your purchase! tbe M&P15-22 is a FUN gun. I always end up shooting it the most because it's cheaper and relatively accurate right out of the box. magazines are tough to get, but I saw a few on gunbroker for sale.

lots of great youtube videos too. almost considering it as a backup HD weapon for the wife because it's so light and easy for her to handle, and you can mount all the tacticool stuff on it no problem.

Picked the toys up from jail and plan to go to the range over the weekend. I have a variety of ammo that I’ll put through both of them and let you know how it goes. I figure I’ll start with CCI mini-mags and then branch out.

Eventually I want to put a red dot on the 15-22, and have heard good things about Primary Arms. Anybody using this on the 15-22? With the magnifier? Any pictures?

If I could find M&P 22 mags too that would be great.

Congrats on your purchases! I have both of those too, but I only have two MP22 mags, and one MP1522 mag AND no .22lr ammo. It's rough.

You're going to love the 15-22! I've had no problems using Winchester Xpert22 in mine.

For a red dot - I like my Vortex Strikefire. I bore sighted it and had it dialed in after just a few rounds at the range.

I only have 1 mag, but I have tons of 22lr. It's a PITA to shoot, stop, reload, shoot again with only one mag when I'm use to having 4 or 5.

I own a 15-22 and have a reflex sight ordered...from the accuracy I've seen it will be a fine tool for taking bushy tails and knocking garden pests down with. If everything holds up this summer will be great.
