Why do some XD's have made in croatia written on the right of the handle under springfield armory and some don't
is it the 9 doesn't and the other models do or is it a generation thing.
I know they are all made there are otheres branded elsewhere?

Was looking for another shot in a buddy's flicker account and found a few shooting photos from a few months back.

Me blasting away with my XD9

When you forget your mag pouches at home, a shell pouch works too

and it's not an XD, but my Ruger mk2 22/45 is a firebreather

Not on the DOJ roster so his is one of few in California. If he can get his hands on an off roster pistol, others under similar circumstances can't?

Yes, others can get them through either moving into the state with them, or buying them off of peace officers who originally purchased them. But relative to the number of regular XDs sold here, it is accurate to say that there are only a "few" XDms in the state.

Different mags and not interchangeable. Currently Springfield doesn't even make 10-round mags for the XDm.

Incompatible.

Only way for a non-roster-exempt person to get an XDm is to PPT the gun itself (can come from a father/son/grandfather in a free state), but import the mags as rebuild kits prior to DROS and block them to 10rds (epoxy a couple of plates on the inside front and back... thin enough to clear the spring, thick enough to block the follower).
Take the neutered mags to the FFL when it's time for the safe handling demonstration and you're GTG.
