I have an XD45 4". My cousin has an XD40 in 4", and I have shot his a few times. I like it. I'm actually more accurate with his Xd than I am with my Sig2022 .40. His XD also felt like it it had less snap.

My xd40 has 8,000-10,000 rounds through it without ever replacing a part. It doesn't jam on me, and fires even when dirty. I love my XD. As a matter of fact, my dad shot it and liked it a little too much (tried to steal it), so I bought him one too.

People get tired of certain guns, or decide maybe to run a different caliber and such. I wouldn't worry too much about seeing people selling/trading, it happens all the time with many great pistols and rifles.

fwiw...
We rented a XD40 a few times in '10, ran fine, shot well. Bought a XD9 at the time just because ammo cost less. Works great, no probs, very happy with the XD.

My first handgun was a 4" XD40 and I loved it. It was fairly accurate, very reliable, and was a natural pointer and shooter. Having said that, since I never used mine for CC purposes, I wish I had purchased the 5"

I'm no fanboi by any means. I own a wide variety of guns of from different manufacturers. Whatever gun I shoot, I give it an unbiased and fair assessment. I was impressed with the XD40. I am more accurate with my XD, and Glocks for some reason, but they dont compare to my sigs, and 1911 as far as comfort in my hand.

The XD is an awesome piece. My wife liked my .40 so much she put it in the night stand on her side of the bed. I wasn't allowed to touch it until I got her her own.

I'm really happy with my XD40. Feels great in my hand; shoots accurately and shoots every time. I'm happy enough with it that I'll be looking for an XD9 (or if I'm really lucky an XDM9) in the near future. Everyone has their preferences but the only handguns I own (and the only ones I want to own) are XDs and Sigs.

It's a fine pistol. Same category as Glock and M&P.

Reliable, accurate, not terribly expensive.

I have the XD Subcompact .40. I don't know what I can add to what has already been said. Every bit as reliable and sturdy as my Glock 23. I use it as my CC everyday.

Its Great! love my 9mm. Its just as reliable as anything else out there. I like the sights, the grip angle, and how it fits my hand. Although now i prefer my glock, this wasnt the case when i was first shopping around. I shot both and decided on the XD.

Ill probably never get rid of it.
