Got my Gen 3 G19 frame back from Tactical Textures & Triggers, and they did some great work and the stippling feels awesome

I need to take better later pics with my DSLR, but here's a quick iPhone pic I just snapped.

Great work! Sure wish he wasn't all the way out in ND. I think he should bring his texturing kit out here to Santa Cruz for a nice vacation.

That's Boresight Solutions work. Ben changed his texture and layout a bit since that piece was done. He hasn't taken custom gun orders in over 2 years...

I think these are the best pictures I've ever seen posted. The color and clarity are just amazing! I'm sure it's probably professional level, but may I ask what your camera setup is?

These are shots from my first and only DSLR. Nikon D3100 with the stock lens. Not really professional (I'm just an amateur).

I just got home and after doing the install on the ZEV and the sun was setting but filling my house with some light.... It was perfect lighting to take the shots. Not too overwhelming and soft/warm.

I'm not savy with terms so forgive me if I get it wrong.

I set it to the max ISO (before it gets grainy...on my camera that was 800). The shutter speed I set to about 40 (so I didn't have to set it on the tripod - there was still enough soft setting sunlight to get a decent exposure). I had the aperture open up all the way to give that depth on the shot like the close up of the magwell.

^^ Hope that helps...not a pro but not a complete newb.

Thanks for the compliments!

LOL. No..that's full size. Actually, with the Hogue and the ZEV Magwell, that fits my hands perfectly. Its like me and the gun were MFEO.

That's how I wanted my gun setup (muzzle brake). That's legal in CA? I wasn't sure. Good stuff!

Has to be permanently attached. Ie: not removable with common household tooling.

Here's a little more publicity for Mike @ Tactical Texture... He repaired a horrid job a local guy did (rec from a friend) on the flats and did an incredible job on the rest of the frame. It's amazing to hold in person and even better to carry as it's still "grippy" but doesn't rub against your skin. Snapped a few quick shots for him today after a quick run at the pit.

Definitely recommend his work!

I only own Surefire. I have the X300, a 6P with a Cree Q5 Led drop in bulb and the new 500 lumen Fury. All of them put out fantastic light and are robust.

I see an x300 Ultra in my future.

Only thing is that the X300 Ultra sticks so far out in front of the muzzle on a G19. The same on a G17, but not as bad and it looks a bit more proportionate. On the G19, it just looks way too long IMO.

I've always liked my weapon lights to sit flush or as close to it as possible.

i agree. it is not a bad thing though, when aesthetics are superimposed on competent function/performance.

Picked up my Glock 22 that I sent off to Mod 1 about a month ago. I'm very pleased with the work that was performed. In my opinion, it looked like it came from the factory.

On the slide I had front serrations added, bevel cuts down the length of the slide, and had it cerakoted back to the factory color.

On the frame, I had it textured with their "W" texture pattern which is the more aggressive texture. I had the finger grooves removed, had the trigger guard under cut, had the mag release cut, and had the index points textured on both sides as well the front and bottom of the trigger guard.

I looked at many places for texturing and it came down to Taran Tactical, Salient, and Mod 1. Mod 1 was the most affordable... Taran doesn't do slide work, and Salient is super expensive.

Can't wait to get it to the range and will be sending in my G27 for just the texturing here soon. All said and done, it was just under $400.
