Mine put a good sized dent in the case.....and the ejector gave it a good toss too! Screwing the castle nut all the way in will take care of that.

Yep makes sense now. I did crank mine all the way down giving maximum pin contact apparently. Hope to try her accuracy out this weekend.

If mine fires today, after I cranked down the castle nut, I'll post the pic of the target this afternoon. If I'm not too embarrassed of course

There's a pretty good dent in the stock where some trainees couldn't figure it out either.

As promised, pix are below. So I screwed (note that I didn't say tighten) the castle nut down and it fired, for about 20 rounds until the nut got looser and looser with every reload. Then I had to do it all over again. Where can I buy a spanner wrench this small? I might have to make one.

Anyway, in both pix I was shooting rifle rested on the bench while kneeling. I fired 10 rounds each, but the first pic only shows 9. Is it me, or does it look like the most center hole is a bit fatter than others, indicating that I nailed the same spot twice?

The rifle shoots really nice and I'm happy with it. I just have to figure out the way to tighten down the castle nut on the bolt. I had few rouge rounds that I felt should have been better placed, but the guy in the lane next to mine, was shooting Smith & Wesson 500. And when that thing fires, it'll change trajectory of anyone's bullet around him

That center hole does look a tad bigger than te others....I clamped my bolt in my vise(with plastic jaw covers) and used two screwdrivers with thinner blades in for the sides and twisted evenly....came off easily and went back on easily and was able to get it pretty tight.

Mine came in, it doesn't appear to have any dry fire damage and looks in pretty good shape.

Pretty close. The import mark is on the left side of the receiver about an inch in front of the cutout area that the bolt's safety slides into. They're marked in 1 pt. type.

I was thinking of getting something bolt or lever action to shoot colibri through it. Which do you think would be better for this?

Just ordered one today; will come back with pix when it arrives!

I've also been contemplating one of the Czech single-shot .22s from Allan's Armory. Almost too inexpensive to pass up... anyone tried out one of those?

Are these suppose to have matching numbers?
How are you supposed to load/unload them?
it seems the empty case falls down behind that little rim...
also, what do you do to increase the hammer strike force?

I just got my shipment of 2 M48. One is matching (edit: Strike that, I miss read the butt plate, that's mismatch from the rest), beautiful. The other, mismatch bolt, with missing hand gaurd and barrel bands...

Considering these are advertised as excellent condition, I will send it for either a refund or a replacement. I really would rather a replacement though. Let's see how Royal Tiger CS is. I've actually heard some bad things...

That sucks....does RT actually box them? Or is it some importer they get them from? If RT is just a middleman, they would have to open the box to check each one. How HTF would the hand guard and bands be to find?

Yup. Got mine in today too from RT. Mismatched bolt and the stock isnt that grand. Sent them a message from their site as their phones go to voicemail.
Hope they can resolve the issue with a replacement. I really do like the rifle. It looks like the spring in the bolt maybe broken or missing, or wrong. I also found that mine is missing the front barrel band. Do mosin barrel bands fit these? I'm going to get some and try.
Also, it looks like the stock had some stuff glued on it, then removed..so a refinish might be in order.

Well, they seem to listing a few at a time, like 6 or 7. When they sell out, they list more a few days later. I really hope to get a replacement, as these are cool little guns, but a refund is fine too I suppose.

Well, RT is the commercial sales division of IO, who imports these, so yeah, they did pack them. I'm pretty sure parts for these are pretty much impossible to find. I'm not going to accept a partial refund and go through that route, that's for sure.

crappy image if anyone is interested. The stock is actually pretty decent, but it does have replacement screws it seems.

Mine is missing the hand guard and barrel bands too. I've heard standard mosin nagant 91/30 barrel bands will work. Don't know what I will do about the handguard though.

M38 or M44 hand guards seem to work. Although Royal Tiger should either replace the gun, send parts to us to complete the rifle (original polish parts, as barrel bands on these seem to be unique in that at least one are usually plumed, and they are marked. Well, should be atleast), or take the gun back for a refund. They did advertise this as excellent after all, and what we received is nowhere near that description. I wouldn't be as miffed if these weren't listed as excellent.

I sent an email last night and this afternoon, as they seem to be ignoring the phones, but nothing from them yet.

I emailed them also. I forgot to mention, the screws on the butt plate were only screwed in about half way.

Royal Tiger's description was far from accurate.

Mine arrived...sadly it is missing the handguard and both barrel bands, too. Looks just like Mad-B-Man's rifle. I've already contacted CS at Royal Tiger. We'll see how they handle it. I would keep the rifle if they could send original parts but I suspect they can't so I'll be shipping it back and getting a refund in all likelihood.

Pity, because it seems like it would be a fun rifle.

By the way, for those of you with similar problems, here's the contact info for the fellow I'm in contact with at RT:

He suggested that I share his information since I mentioned that I wasn't the only one with this problem!

Wow guys, I almost pulled the trigger on one of these, glad I didn't, I would have been disappointed as I am sure that you are. Does not sound like "Excellent" condition to me?

Hope you guys get it resolved, that is no fun.

Well, there goes another business day and I've yet to hear back from any of the mails I sent. I'll try BruinGuy's contact. Thanks for posting that.

I actually ordered 3. I received one today, roughish stock (which I can deal with, though certainly not "excellent"), actually all matching this time, although it doesn't have a fore end cap and seems to have some minor dry fire damage...

We'll see how it goes.

I'm in the same boat. Mine is in fair condition, definitely not Excellent. It has a cracked stock, half of the bluing is gone, with areas of corrosion. It looks like we got the bottom of the pile.

I get the bottom of the pile concept. What I don't get is, bottom of the pile rifles for top of the pile prices.
I would pay 150 for my rifle in its current configuration. But for 250, I expect to get what they described. Which is excellent.

That sucks. The earlier ones that came in were nice overall but these last ones are straight u-fix/incompletes and should be advertised as such.

Hope it works out for u guys

Another business day gone with no communication via any of the 3 different email addresses I've contacted. Tomorrow is the last business day that I will be around for a while. Although I can always have someone else at home deal with the shipping and receiving I guess.

I still haven't heard back from them yet either.

Funny because right after I ordered, I emailed them to ask if it was free shipping or not. There was a paragraph that read something to the effect that free shipping only applied to that product and I had to click on agree. Well they emailed me back that day with a simple "no".

I have attempted to contact RTI to see if I could return the rifle for a refund. I suspect my request has fallen on deaf ears

Wow, that blows. As Vlad said, it seems that the first batch was pretty nice. I still didn't think that they were in excellent condition, but by comparison to what you guys are getting now, I guess they were.

Mine had all numbers matching except extractor, had some dry-fire damage, and the stock had some deep scratches and gashes in it, but it shoots good and is pretty good overall. Hope all of the problems will be resolved for you guys.

Finally got a response from Josh Pierce.

He said to take photos of the guns and they'll probably do a repair or refund. I do want to keep them though, or at least one I'm going to ask if I can just transfer the missing parts on one to the other so I can just send in one if it comes to that.

I sent pictures to Josh, he agreed (obviously) that the rifle was incomplete. He said they have no parts to offer and would refund and are sending me a pre-paid return for FedEx.

I'm a little bummed but I think I'll pick up one of those Czech single shot rifles from Allan's. I know they've got damaged stocks, but seem fixable and aren't missing parts. Plus they're half the price.

Good luck to the rest of you! I linked them to this thread and told them they had quite a few unhappy customers with these rifles, so hopefully they'll work hard on damage control to make us all happy - or at least whole - again.
