Default Walther ppk, fair price?

A co-worker offerd me his walther ppk he purchased in 2002.

It is
Stainless finish
.380acp
Only 20rds through it.
Has all paperwork,box. Etc.
Price=$500 + dross.

I have yet to see the gun and i am wondering if this is a good deal.
I have little knowledge of walther's so any help is appreciated.
Are there other things i should look at?
I will hopefully be getting pictures later today.
Also i find moderately used walthers for 300 on buds but they are NEVER in stock.

I took a look on Gunbroker and that looks to be in the price range. German (French) built ones go for more as do .22lr versions. Hopefully this link works so you can see what they are bringing on Gunbroker: http://www.gunbroker.com/Semi-Auto-P...ywords=ppk%2fs

Anything you buy on Bud's will also have to be shipped to a CA FFL which can increase the final price dramatically.

Sounds fair, I sold last year for 550 + fees. I had some accessories with it. Keep in mind PPK is off roster so non PPT cost could be prohibitive. One thing to look for, there was a recall on S&W ppk and it would be nice if he's had this done already. There will be a punch mark on the top of the beavertail if the work was completed.

Both parties should be happy with that price. 380 in the PPK is a little hurtful so your ammo cost will not be high. Good mouse gun.

Paid $535 altogether for mine ($500 to seller + $35 DROS and transfer fees). Your deal sounds about par for the course.

Thanks guys. Is there a mechanical/fitment diffrence. That varies by importers? I see the interarms imported guns are slightly higher.

Have you shot the gun?? I would seriously shoot at least 100rds befor you buy the gun. Reason I say this is those ppks seem to either fit your hand or not. None of my bigger(read200+lbs) friends could shoot this gun without getting that famous slide-bite on the top of there hands, and I personally did not like how heavy the gun is for such an underpowered round. I personally would pay $500 for a ruger LCP befor I'd pay that for a ppk. Just my .02c

Good luck with your purchase!
