Default Looking for a 1911 commander size with a bobtail

Does anyone know where I can find one that is CA legal?

Kimber & Smith and Wesson both make one but they aren't CA legal

What is the purpose of the pistol? If for CCW you may want to consider an alloy frame Commander instead of an all steel model like the CBOB. Also have you shot a bobtailed 1911 before? Not everyone likes the feel, their primary benefit is to aid in concealment.

Personally I'm ambivalent towards them. While I like my CBOB my ccw 1911 is a LW Commander (Wiley Clapp).

Great photo of the gun, not so much with the gun and alcohol.
I'm just sayin'.

OP
You really need to let us know the use for the bobtail.
God bless, Fred

No offense but he wasn't looking for any advice.

Unless you're running a silencer, all bobbed 1911 commanders are legal in California.

You can also have a 1911 bobbed by a competent smith.

He is referring to the CA roster.

Oh and they are suppressors not silencers.

None taken.
A year 'round concealed carry piece you want as light as possible.
This kind of limits your options, not many LW models to choose from.

And he's wrong. Silencer is the legal term found in the US Code (along with "Firearm Muffler"). Suppressor is a coined term since nothing is truly silenced. In normal use they mean the same thing.

CA legal and rostered are different terms and don't mean the same thing in any type of use.
