Default SSE for Kimber Solo

Has anyone here SSE'd a Kimber solo? I've heard that Table Work Arms and EBR might do them, but couldn't find anything on the web of actual people who SSE'd a Kimber Solo. Thanks.

Solo-s are hard to find to begin with, then you have to SSE them. My guess is that the SSE part is easier than finding one for sale. After all, a relatively generic long barrel usually does the trick for SSE.

You should talk to Ryan at Table Rock Arms directly to figure out whether he can do it. My local SSE friendly store, OC Armory, said they could. If they become available, I'll get one just for fun.

I had a SSE done on a Kimber Desert warrior last year at Valkyrie Arms in Santa Clara, but they seems to have gone out of business. If you do find a place, please post here because I would like a Solo as well.

If it uses a standard 1911 barrel, we can do it.

I've been looking for a Solo, really haven't seen one in CA nor very many out of state either. I may be mistaken but doubt it takes or would accept a standard (linked) 1911 barrel, nor a ramped one. A 1911 barrel in 9mm is harder to find than a 45 ACP, even if a ramped one does fit.

I do agree on the link on the barrel. It is different from a standard 1911 and doubt it 9mm 1911 barrel will work.

There are several on gunbroker. Very pricey, but abundant.

Why would want to go to all the trouble for a Kimber when there are other guns that will do the exact same thing with better quality and reliability?

I like the quality of Kimber, and the small size. If there were something that was the same size with equal quality I would be interested.

Because it's preference. Tons of guns out there with the same caliber with better or ****tier quality. Regardless, someone is going to love it or hate it.
