Default Who uses Wilson Combat 47D mags?

I bought several different brands of mags for my FS 1911 and they have all given me 0 issues except for the Wilson Combat 47D 8rd mag (with baseplate). If anyone wants to trade me their CMC/ACT mag (or some other brand I haven't tried yet), I would send you the WC mag for a trade even if your mag is much cheaper. It's only been through one range session (150rds... only 50 of which went through the WC mag) so it is nearly brand new.

PM me if you're interested

Did your Wilson mags cause your gun to FTC on the last or second-to-last round? That's what mine did before I did what you did and traded them away.

I had similar issues with 47D's but I was able to fix them. It makes them 7 rounds instead of 8, but they are reliable now. Buy a couple of the Tripp Super-7 repair kits and replace the follower and spring.

I have a few 8 rounders Chip MC power mag and 47ds collecting dust somewhere.

I just buy Tripp Research Cobra Magazines and be done with it.

I always had issues with FTL (Failure to lock after last round fired... and I attribute that to the plastic follower Wilson uses. I have had perfect reliability with Chip McCormick "Shooting Star" 8 rnd mags... with metal followers.

Wilson 47D magazine springs are weak. 1911 mags were not designed for eight rounds, period.

Some are better than others. My favorite mags so far are the Checkmate seven rounders with the hybrid lips.

Since this didn't happen with ACT and CMC mags, I concluded that it was a case my gun not liking Wilson, so I traded them away to shooting buddies after letting them make sure my mags worked in their guns.

Would the extractor be resting up against the cartridge from behind before you give the slide a bump?

Sounds like maybe it could be inertial feeding...something caused by weak springs and/or the lack of the dimple on the follower.
