Default Ruger 10/22 stocks.

Any advice on a nice light stock that I can put a bi pod on? I have the standard wood stock on it now. I am looking to purchase a bull barrel at the end of this month as well.

Light stock generally means synthetic.

Synthetic + Bipod = Flex

Flex in the stock will cuase contact with the barrel. That varying pressure on the barrel between shots could mean accuracy will suffer.

You might consider a Hogue overmolded stock. Widely considered a high quality stock. http://www.getgrip.com/main/overview/overmolded.html

Try boyds

They are resonable and beautiful. A bipod like a harris can be added to a sling stud you get the studs from boyds as well. That is same I did for my 10/22.

Those are very nice indeed! When I get my 10/22, this will be one of the stocks I would consider.

Boyds seems like a great price! Only problem is they don't have it in a yellow. Anyone seen one for a decent price with the hornet finish?

Some on here agree that the Hogue will flex causing the problem I stated above.

I agree with everyone that says go with Boyds, I have 2 of their stocks and they are excelent quality at a reasonable price. Though laminate may not be the lightest, it will definitely look good and be something you can be proud of.

Default Stock w/ Integrated Bipod

This what my son and I put on his 10/22. Comes premolded with bipod integrated into stock. Makes it much lighter. Has used it for at least four years without any issues. Hopes this helps.
