Arrow DFW Offers One-day Wilderness Clinic in March

Please support this and other Hunter Education Programs!!!

The anti’s are out to stop all such activity throughout the State this year. We beat then last month at the Predator Hunter Clinic and we must stay vigilant throughout the year. Please pass this along to everyone you can – this is a great class for everyone. I have been told that Scouts are encouraged to attend as part of their program.

DFW Offers One-day Wilderness Clinic in March
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s (DFW) Advanced Hunter Education Program, and the Hunter Education Instructor Association of Southern California are jointly sponsoring a Wilderness First Aid clinic March 16th in Palmdale, Los Angeles County.

Alex Van, a 30 year veteran firefighter/paramedic will instruct this exciting clinic. This wilderness first aid clinic consists of hands-on training designed to meet the needs of outdoor enthusiasts and individuals hunting in remote locations. Topics will cover cuts, broken bones, burns, gunshot wounds, first aid kits, and basic survival equipment. The clinics goal is at the end of the course, you'll have the knowledge, skills and ability to make sound decisions in wilderness emergency situations.

The clinic begins at 9 a.m. on March 16th and ends at 5 p.m. The cost is $45 and space is limited. Youths 16 years and younger are free but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

DFW’s Advanced Hunter Education Program will provide all necessary class equipment.

Registration forms are available online at http://www.dfg.ca.gov/huntered/advanced/index.aspx. After registering, participants will receive an e-mail with a map to the facility and a list of items to bring.

Palmdale is located, approximately 64 miles north east of Los Angeles. For further Information you can Contact: Lt. Dan Lehman, Advanced Hunter Education Program Coordinator, (916) 358-4356
