Default Doing the happy dance Ruger 22/45 MkII (I think)

Saw an add this morning for a 22/45 with a SS target barrel for $225. Thought that is good enough for me to jump. I was the first caller and it was mine.

It has a black polymer frame but it will fire without the mag inserted. Any other way to be sure that it is a mkii or mkiii?

Post a pic and a bunch of us could tell you if it is.

I don't think MKIIs have the loaded chamber indicator either.

So, different model than the one in the video above.

Mine does have a normal mag release. There is no loaded chamber indicator, the front sight is notched and it is not drilled and tapped on the top.

Based on serial number it is a 1993 22/45 MkII target pistol. I think $225 was a pretty good deal. I'll need to find some more mags to go with it so I have enough to use in steel challenge.

Before the MKII's expired from the roster we paid a premium for a couple... $500+

$225 I'd have jumped on it as well.

I prefer the grip from my mkIII 22/45 so I swapped it onto my KMKII with a tapered barrel.

I'm considering milling the grip panels on the lower so I can fit 1911 grips on it.

Nice Piece to add to the collection. I love my MKIII 22/45.

Magazines for them are currently going for a premium. Also I highly recommend a Ultimate Clip Loader. Worth every penny and then some.

I did this to my 22/45. I followed a you tube video, bought some grip screw bushings and grips. Other than trigger mods it's the best improvement.
