Default Lazy AR build question

Stripped lower bought over a year ago, was taking my time...well, in not so many words, whoops.

Now is certainly not the time to complete my build; however, I'm wondering...

a) are there any parts that aren't being jacked up in price to crazy levels?
b) when do you think things will get somewhat close to "normal" (definition varies obviously).

Ideally I'd like to complete my build by this summer to actually enjoy going out and shooting it, but can wait...but also do not want to wait until next year when new prohibitive laws may go in effect in our state.

My apologies in advance if this has been talked to death, I did some searching, but really didn't know what terms to use, and I don't frequent the forums often.

a) Any as in every one needed on a rifle? Short of o-rings or optics, nope. If it's meant for an AR, you've gonna have to shell out extra.....if you even find it in some cases.

b) Optimistically on average? Three months. Realistically about six. This can vary greatly depending on which component. That or when supply catches up and outpaces demand. Ammo will come back first, but something like chromed fluted barrels will take a while. Some people have stuff back-ordered till next Christmas.

A: Not really, but you might get lucky now and then.

I seem to find components all the time, and for great pre panic prices too. I also seem to be flat broke at those exact moments. Last Saturday I walked into Parallax tactical to pick up a buffer tube for my pistol project and they had two of their uppers for sale for $799..

They also had microslicked bcg's for $200.

Im doing my first AR build right now too, and am finding everything at normal prices, but its a hunt. Shipping times have been more of a problem then good prices. Midway so far is the only company I have bought from that is shipping in a reasonable time frame. That and paying shipping from 10 different companies instead of just 1 or 2. Only things I havent been able to find w/o a premium are magazines and ammo, and I paid about $30 premium on the lower I bought just to be sure I had it before new legislation.

It just all requires a close eye on the forums to see when stuff goes in stock, and be sure to only order from companies with live inventory on their sites, and reasonable ship times. The good stuff goes out of stock in a matter of 15-20 minutes, so unless you can be checking constantly on your computer all day, I wouldnt try it now.

I had email notifications for the few parts I needed sent to my phone. Helped me get the barrel I wanted. Everything else I found in stock with a little searching. JT had a lot of small parts I needed and shipped fast. And I traded for a few things as well.

I also got all of the hard to find stuff aside from a barrel a few months ago, mostly from calguns members at great prices.
