Default DROS advise needed

Got my Stag lower out of jail yesterday! Store owner calls me today and says "I know you had a change of address card on your license, but I forgot to put it in...we have to start over and I need the lower back" I'm not really up on the details of the process...paid for it, filled out my forms, stamped my thumb print, put it in jail and picked it up. I have the entire lower assembled (great education by the way!). Am I required to bring it back in or is this something that can be fixed with a fax, backspace key, something else?
Thanks for looking!

I personally would not return especially after the receiver has been built up. The store(owner) had 10 days to get this figured out and if there was a problem with the DROS the receiver should not have been released to you anyways.....

If DOJ released the lower, then not your fault, it's on DOJ. If DOJ did not release, then fault is with FFL, not you. Of course, you may now be in possession of a firearm that was not legally transferred to you.

It's on them for the screw up. Tell him to piss off. If you give it up for another 10 days, you may never get it back.

It really depends on how much YOU like this FFL. The reality of it is *THEY* should have caught the error during the 10 day waiting period. Ultimately THEY could get "DINGED" by DOJ or ATF during an audit. It's registered to you, even if you move, it's still yours.

Long guns aren't registered until next year unless you voluntarily register them.

Don't bring it back but definitely do help him with the paperwork just because it would be a nice thing to do. I thought the DOJ put out a memo that COA cards shouldn't be accepted anymore?

They do not need the lower back. All they need to do is send in a correction form and note the address change.

DOJ does not check the addresses there is no way to so its not on them.

DO NOT TAKE IT BACK! There is zero requirement to take it back and it won't change the fact that they already have a background check completed with the incorrect information come audit time.

A question, did you put your correct address on the 4473? If so then only the DROS is incorrect. If that were the case then I would (the dealer) simply cross out the incorrect address on DROS and write on the DROS paper the correct address. I would possibly beg you to bring in a government issued document so I could confirm your address for 4473 requirements.

The dealer can also send this in, but it says it is for handguns and I can't get the DOJ to answer the phone this morning.
