Default Ppt at bass pro in Manteca?

Hi, I've heard that they do but it didn't say anything about a stripped lower. They are the only ffl open on Sunday which is when I plan to do a transfer and I was wondering if anybody had any experience with this. When I called they said they didn't do transfers. I just want to confirm if they do or don't and if they will do a stripped lower. Thanks.

did the firearms department tell you no? If not then i would call and ask to be transferred to firearms as anyone else might not give you a straight answer

in FFL-speak, "transfers" are not the same as "private party transfers". They don't have to do transfers if they don't want to, but they are required by CA-law to do PPTs on demand.

now, many FFLs refuse to transfer OLLs and other EBRs by claiming that they aren't legal, and CADOJ seems to be letting them skate on that.

Well for one when I asked to be transferred to the firearms section she asked what it was about and I told her. She said they didn't do ffl to private party but they will do a ppt. My cousin called me later and got a different answer so I just wanted to clarify. Those people usually have no idea what they're doing.

Anybody have any first hand experience with this sort of thing? Are they legally obligated to do a transfer on a lower?

If you need a FFL to do a PPT on Sunday, check out J&R in Livermore. They are open

They can just say "we do not transfer those things"...look elsewhere for Sunday or do it on another day at TRAP.

J&R in Livermore or Tunn Tavern in Manteca, which is a home based FFL. Pm me if you can't find his info. Nice guy. I did a handgun ppt at Bass Pro once. Never again.

For anybody interested, I just went to bass pro in Manteca and they do transfer stripped lowers. Walked in at 10:10 and walked out at around 11:10. Transfer went smoothly and fairly quick considering we had to take a number and wait and then deal with a couple new employees. Just my experience.

I have had the worst experience doing a PPT at Bass Pro. Like the OP, I went there because I wanted to do a Sunday transfer. It took over an hour because they have to triple check everything with the supervisor. Then, they screwed it up and dragged the seller and me back into the store to fiddle with some paperwork. The pickup also took about an hour. There is no way I would ever do a PPT at Bass Pro again.

Elite Arms is basically across the 120 on main street. Although no Sunday Transfer. I have heard Tunn Tavern is good to deal with , but have no experience with them.

Just want to let you know too. Maybe its late after all the replies; I called earlier this year and asked to be transferred to the hunting dept where the guns are. I got a salesllady on the line and asked here specifically if they do private party transfers that I would be purchasing a handgun that was off the Calif roster and the PPT was the only way to obatain it. She told me they DO transfers there. This was earlier in the year and things may have changed. Dont know. One thing though, you must pin them down to give you a concrete answer and thats what I did. You might want to call again and whoever answers the general line number, just give them some BS(its none of their business only between you and the gun dept.) if they ask and then ask the right and direct question when you get transferred.

Yes they do transfers, I used them for two on Sundays in the past, this was before all the crazies hit the store, the first one I did there was the 3rd worst PPT experience I've ever had, took over three hours. The last one I did there was lightning quick in Bass Pro time, probably an hour once we were helped.

I was in there today, mad house!!! One guy was picking up a Bushmaster AR he bought a couple weeks ago, people were ooooing and awwwing over it like it was the Queens jewels.

I wouldn't want to do another PPT again. And I wouldn't do one there with all the panic buyers out there now, your going to be there all day.

Oh and worst PPT experience, Breco in Clovis never treated so rudely in my life in a gun store, 2nd worst Bulls Eye in San Rafel?
