There's always more chatter on the weekends since most companies don't add new stock over the weekend and there's not much else to post anyway.

Personally I think the chatter is good. I ran my scripts and posted finds for a long time after I was done buying .22 because I like most of the people participating in the thread and wanted to help out. If it's just the same three guys posting finds with no feedback where's the fun in that?

This ammo thread has been effective! I think some simply EXPECT to come on here & only see available ammo, or ammo related comments. Some of us live in reality...Thanks to all who participate! I have a decent stash of ammo now, wasn't cheap, but I have plenty.

This thread has performed just fine - one of the best on Calguns in my opinion.

1. People will chat on occasion.
2. Someone will make the reminder.
3. Folks will continue reporting finds.

No other thread is necessary...

I forgot, the chitchat police will be knocking I'm sure.

I agree 100%!

In my opinion, what benefits people the most in this forum is that there are participants that are willing to continue to share, since expanding this sport is critical. Sharing ammo finds and other information is a personal decision.

Use this forum to learn how to source ammo. It is all there. Then, once you learn, give back, so others can learn. And, learning does not mean just waiting to click on a link provided for you!

I've never ordered from GanderMountain. Is there a way to avoid the $9 surcharge on ammo?

Also is there a thread that gives tips on ordering from vendors?

Thanks

$9 isn't that bad if you order enough ammo/miscellaneous items to get free shipping when the average shipping cost for Midway or Natchez is $18!

Send vendors a PM. Try starting there.

I'll gladly pay $9 to ship 2k plus rounds. Midway and others want a minimum of almost $20 to ship to me

And $9 is not near as expensive as most sales tax in this state again pending on size of the order

Default Ammo find of the day .. :)

I thought you might get a chuckle .. or maybe a frown .. in any event my daughter is doing a 20 year purge of my office, and stumbled across this ..

P1000016.jpg

The black tip is an M-22, and the other rimmed cartridge is an ubiquitous 45-70 (the 70 comes from .. 70 grains of black powder from the olden days .. not the length) Gov't oinker round for comparison. And btw .. the "oinker" round cost about the same as the old box of 22LR at our local mercantile (no lgs out here) a few months back. Anyhoo .. that box is soo old .. doesn't even use the barcode system.

Soo .. what ya got amigos .. Essayons!

You're never going to eliminate chatter here. It doesn't get too off topic, and most of it is weekends or other lulls in finds.

If that still bugs you, another forum might be better. Read post 1 on S&Ws ammo finds thread. It sounds strict, but guess what, I still see some chatter. http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-w...mo-thread.html

Question Bucket of Bullets .22LR

This website confuses me.
Does this mean that you can order the bucket of bullets but it's a crap shoot of between 1-8 weeks (if at all) when you will receive them?

Has anyone ordered the bucket from them and when did you receive them?

My first Ammo order was from GanderMTN on the Internet to try 2 different 50 round 22lr brands, and get a silica-jar for a safe.

The box arrived and 22lr cartridges were falling out of the bottom of the box. I opened it, and there was almost no packing, and I had to pickup about 75 cartridges, and I believe 4 were missing (fell out of the box in shipping somewhere, or on the sidewalk?) out of the 100 ordered.

I will not order from GanderMTN again.

IndeTrucks,

I would not order anything from Code 3 Tactical. There was a lot
of bad comments about them when Googled, even from Law enforcement web sites. They show a contact number, but it is only a message number.
I found another number, it also is only a message number. They have moved their location at least twice in recent times.

The BBB rates them as A-. Most of the complaints are for non deliveries.
I would bet money that the Remington Bucket that they advertize is not really
in stock. Since you can't call to verify, it is a gamble to order.

That and the shipping put it at close to 7 cents a round not a great deal for bulk

Upon closer inspection, code 3 also doesn't post current inventory online... So more likely it is not in stock (according to online reviews and their own statement)

Hey that helps, added less than one buck to the shipping..... Thanks!

Those sub sonics work great in my bolt guns getting squirrls out of the garden. The Aguila sub sonics even cycle my sons Marlin 795.

Code 3 is the worst. Stay far, far away. Their website lists many many things that they don't actually have in inventory, which can takes months to actually ship (if ever). I've placed 3 orders with them over the years, and had to eventually cancel every one of them after they were back ordered for months on end. I've seen MANY people reporting similar stories here.

I swear by my Foodsaver, and yes, I occasionally do use it for food! Just watch sharp edges on stuff you are sealing, as they can puncture the plastic.

BTW, just got a response from Code 3

"We do not currently have any pistol or rifle ammo in stock at the store. All of
our non-shotgun ammo coming in is filling customer backorders.

For more information check out the FAQ:

http://www.code3tactical.com/ammo-faq.aspx "
