Cool I've been ruined, fishing will never be the same! ...Unless...

My birthday is coming up so I was thinking about upgrading from my pflueger light to an ultra light trout rod...

I made the mistake of asking the Bass Pro Shop's fishing department manager what he'd reccomend and I believe it to be store policy to start with the bass pro brand which honestly had a great action, then a couple name brands. Finally, I was introduced to Fenwick. It felt like I was holding an extension of myself, I couldn't believe the action and response this thing had!

Does anyone else use Fenwick? What's your experience been? I have a feeling I'll have one on the wall before too long.

I need to get a rod protector for travel protection, I hate when I break a tip while in transit!

Where are the fishing threads hiding?

well im assuming you are fly fishing, in which case i really like orvis rods for the price and the action my 6 weight had before i snapped the sucker. i have never used Fenwicks and if you are talking about spinners, im clueless on how to catch anything but weeds with those...

If you can attend the Fred Hall Show in Long Beach, I'd see what vendors are offering this year and ask to pull on some blanks. Maybe have one wrapped for you by a local builder with the components you want. I don't do any freshwater but this is how I pick my salt water blanks.

I'm partial to G Loomis rods for freshwater. Also have a number of Kunan rods that I like very much.
