Default PBS-5 FAKE silencer for AK

Does anyone know where I can get a PBS-5 fake silencer for an AKM build? I want to use a folding stock so I have to be able to attach it permanatly....

I saw one here
http://www.migeta.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4261

it's $100, a bit steep for a cheep ak build. I can see the mastercard commercial

$8 rivets
$55 receiver
$99 parts kit
spending $100 plus shipping for a NON-FUNCTIONAL-CA-part - PRICELESS

Or would someone happen to have a line on a tap/die for the reverse threaded 14mm threads?

Todd

Hmmm, $100 for a piece of functionless dead weight?
Sounds great.

You dont have to attatch it permanently when achieving OAL , you only have to do that when your barrel is under 16 inches

I think as long as you it is 30"(or is it 34"?) or longer in its shortest configuration, with the stock folded in your case, you're good.

How much length do you need to add? My tantals only need about a half inch, I think I'm going to weld a bottle opener to the rear trunnion.

I personally just extend the rear stock when I need to make OAL, as thedrickel suggested. When the rifle's unfolded, you won't even notice the extension, unlike a fake can that'll be there ALL the time.

However, I prefer using the stock extenders CWS carries - no permanent mods, and they come right off. Heck, they were designed for use with the side folding stocks...

Bear in mind that you're dealing with an assault weapon issue, and not a federal SBR issue.

California's assault weapon code does not define permanence in the length considerations. If that were the case, they'd actually be able to say that we DO have to have our magazines welded shut, bolted, whatever. But this is the real world, and screwed-on length extensions and bullet buttons are clearly legal, regardless of what the Brady Bunch would like to believe.

LOL!!
Gives me a few good ideas....

Ok, you guys have it your way on your ak. But on MY sidefolding ak, I want a fake can.
I am considering semi-permanatly attaching the bayonet. Does that cout (for OAL, not as a bottle opener )

sorry, but IMO the rear extension looks like a 4" turd that needs to be wiped.
