Default FFL to FFL transfer at gun show

I'm a new FFL, so bare with me.

Two part question.

1st question:
If I go to a gun show, can I purchase a firearm from a private party, or from another FFL(vendor) at the gun show, and bring it home with me?

If yes to 1st question....
2nd question:
I'm a partner in my business, but only my partner's name is on our FFL. How would I do this?

Thanks in advance.

As long as you are a bona fide employee, yes. You can buy guns or pick up guns from other dealers. You might want to have a paystub and your ID or a letter from the name on the FFL authorizing you to act on behalf of the company.

Now if you are part of the operation, the ATF wants you to be listed as a responsible party on the FFL. If you are just an employee, they don't care.

I wish I knew that when I was a bona fide employee of a shop.

Well, on paper, I am simply an employee, so I guess thats how I would handle this.

We'll write up a letter, bring several copies of my DL, and see how it goes.

remember that you still need to get CFLC approval to do that FFL>FFL transfer at the gun show.

Good call. I suppose with wifi and ipads, we can still process CFLC.

Is what I'm asking to do common pracatice? Has it been done before? Or am I asking for a headache? I don't want to beak any rules, but if its possible, it just saves time, shipping, waiting, etc..
