Default Will CPM-3V work for the ole flint and steel spark?

Will CPM-3V work for making a spark on a flint? I've got a Koster Bushmaster on order and would love to hear your thoughts on this steel or knife.

A ferro rod will spark on anything with a decent edge. I've sparked ferro rods with glass.

Steel is essential when working with real "Flint and Steel" fire starting. This is because it is actually the steel that is being shaved off by the flint and the burning steel is the spark.

A Ferro Rod is ferrocerrium which is a man made metal mixture which contains about 20% iron, about 40% cerrium and smaller percentages of other metals including magnesium.

As long as you have a surface that is hard enough to scrape off shaving of the ferro rod, the friction of shaving off the tiny pieces will cause them to spark.
