Default quick barrel install lube question

Hello,

I know I'm supposed to use a high pressure grease on the upper receiver's threads, but I was wondering if I should lube the part of the barrel that slides into the upper receiver as well. . .

or does it not matter?

Just lightly coat the threads.

Thanks guys,

I ended up having to lightly greased the barrel extension with some slide glide. . . the barrel fit in the receiver was so tight I was afraid the barrel would not come out later if I didn't put something in there.

Don't forget to lube the front face of the barrel extension that the barrel torques against.
This lets the nut slide there instead of twisting the barrel in the receiver as torque is applied.

Thanks guys,

This is great fun. I did grease the bearing surface of the barrel extension. . . also the front face of the upper receiver when I put the V-tac on with red locktite (didn't want my inner barrel nut to get glued to the upper receiver). That was a bit of a wrestle. . . the gas hole is lined up very well, but I think the tube might be canted a little bit. I thought long and hard about future uses for this rifle, and none of them factored in forward-mounted optics. . . in fact, the only thing I conceivably would put on the front is a sling and a flashlight. . .so I didn't purchase a rail section just to align the tube and just tried to use the force. Everything was shifty when I tried to hand-tighten the outer nut, and I couldn't make minute, smooth adjustments. The locktite was setting up so I decided to let it be when I got it close one time.
