Default riverside meet up to build 80% ar-15's anyone?

Anyone interested in doing a meet up to machine ar-15's in Riverside in a few weeks?

They are setting up dates at http://www.spintechmufflers.com/
for a few weeks out, maybe we could arrange a calguns date? Anyone interested?

Do they have 80% lowers for sale or do you need to have one already?

Yes Superior Metal HAS STOCK NOW! Call and buy them while you can and pass the word to other cal gunners and folks that will actually use them. Their number is 888-550-7746 They don't have a ton of them but apparently they ordered before things went completely crazy, although from a more expensive forge than cerro. They are selling Anchor Harvey which does colt, stag and I think Daniel Defense.

I got on gun broker today 80% ar's are going to over 200 in some cases!!!!!!!!!! INSANE!!!!!!!

Just called Superior Metal and they don't have any in stock per se, but they are getting forgings in next week so they will have 80% lowers ready in 4 weeks. But they are taking orders at $100 per lower.

So maybe we can push the date back to four weeks to make their time line and do a build? a couple friends and I got pre ordered a couple dozen, so were all in even if it takes a couple weeks. Best we could find a few weeks ago was backordered ti June. I spoke to Ron, they are only selling approximately 200 of these and I'm getting mine while it lasts.

ok for those that keep pming me the number is 1-888-550-spin I dont have anything but my BB so you'll have to type that spin on your phones keypad. They have a price workout thats the same overall. If you buy a lower from them its 140 and machining is 30 bucks. If you bring your own lower the machining is 70 bucks. We ordered some more today, they have less than a hundred left.

just a heads up

If I can get my hands on a couple of 80% ers, I would be interested. I have a friend that wants to do it also and he is a really good machinist.
I will call that place and see if they have any for sale.

Wait... so the guys who make actual spintech mufflers are doing 80% AR machining, and even getting their hands on 80% AR lowers for people?

These guys are badasses, I love their mufflers.

Update, they do have them anodized and thats about it as far as I know. not cerakote or parkerizing.

Hey gents, spintech/superior metal out of riverside is doing the build parties now. mondays 5-7 and saturdays 8-2 but you need to make an appointment. you can contact them at 888-550-7746.

Something I have never seen and they are offering is jig rentals, which is kinda cool. You can rent a jig for a week for like 40 bucks, you do have to leave a deposit but they said its fully refundable, once they get the jig back. so if you wanted to knock out your lower at home, boom you can with out buying a jig. Not that you could find any right now anyways. But the lowers are in stock apparently and more importantly you can bring your own and machine them.

I have seen a few folks trying to mail there lowers out to get machined, this jig rental will keep you legal and having fun doing a diy.

The 80%'s are unfinished, I confirmed that. Tough to anodize them on a time crunch. I don't think the magwells have been broached yet.

Has anyone built one of these yet? Do they have stock available? Never purchased an 80% a little feedback would be helpfull, such as : do the holes line up, any difficulties installing the LPK, Tight tolerances, no wiggle, no problems mounting certain uppers etc....

Just spoke with spintech, nice people, they are expecting their next shipment by mid April. You can pre-order or chance it. They come plain aluminum and plan on expanding in the future with more machines. They say they are made mil-spec, but as we all know that doesn't mean to much. They are 7075 & get them shipped in to their facility. Probably just a recap of all the above info. Thanks for the lead, once somebody gets theirs chime in with your opinion.

I don't suppose they mentioned what the status of the current batch is? I really don't want to bug them with "Are they done yet?" phone calls!!

I talked to Ron the week before last and they were getting broached. I should hopefully have mine early next week. I work in Corona and would be happy to meet up with you for you to check them out before ordering.

Nubrun, have you received your 80% yet? I am curious on how tight they are when they mount to an upper & how the LPK installs.

I have not. I got the call that they are on there way to anodizing (they called me for once, which is a good sign) and I should have it Friday of next week. I'll post some pictures when I finally get it.

Thanks,
Nick
