Default place in california to learn tactical response and shoot

do you guys know where i can find a place to practice andl also gear up like similar like magpul tactical training and with those gear that costa and his student wear ? i mean similar like them around california ? cause i'm still a beginner and interesting to learn how to shoot handgun and AR15 , and do you know how much it would cost me to learn how to shoot with guided by an instructor and shoot while move towards . well first of all maybe it sound ridiciullous since i'm only civilian with this question but do you think is there any place like that around california that provide those training and all other people that came to that place likes to gear up too like operator load out .

ok that would be all , happy new year all ;p

You can take an actual Magpul Dynamics class, but not in CA. The closest would be Nevada and it's about $650 as I recall.

Check out http://www.civilianarmstraining.com/ for a more affordable local alternative.

I recommend Uncle Scotty over at ITTS in Angeles Shooting Range. It isn't anything like Magpul, but good place to start learning fundamentals. Remember looking dynamic is real nice on youtube, but fast misses don't count.

+1 on Civilian Arms Training. They offer affordable training classes and most of their classes are taught at Burro Canyon.

+1...Definitely not the cheapest, but this is really a case of you get what you pay for. He has been there and done that several times. I've taken several classes from them and for some reason, his lessons seem to stay with you.

I am pretty sure all the fancy gear you see is not provided for you, you would have to buy your own gear and see what works for you best. Also, these are not beginner classes, you would have to take a few classes before going to a Chris Costa style class.

Johnny and the rest of the team at Black Center Tactical are pretty good. I already took a carbine and pistol course with them. They're are just starting with 1 day courses and unfortunately there isn't enough time within an 8 hour span to teach everything. For the most part, him and the rest of the instructors are spot on and are there to help you. What's even better is that they will start teaching combat casualty classes in the near future. I will be at the class this Saturday at the Prado Shooting Range. Check out the site for more information http://blackcentertactical.com.

Check out Aegis Academy in San Diego County. They offer a Firearms Fundamentals course shooting pistol, rifle, and shotgun as well as basic, intermediate, and advanced courses in Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun. They do not have a "pro-shop" to outfit your needs, but can point you in the right direction.

Aegis Academy operates in Pala, CA. It is on the 76, about 30 min east of Oceanside, about 5 miles east of the 76/15 intersection. The classroom instruction is typically held at the Pala Conference center located adjacent to the Casino and the live fire is conducted on a large outdoor range about 1.5 miles across the highway.

Let me know if you want more information.

I have really enjoyed my training with Uncle Scotty.

Civilian Arms Training isn't a bad start.

Firearms Training Associates is a nice start too.

I'd go CTA, FTA, then ITTS. Don't forget about getting a cert to take a 4 day handgun or rifle course at Frontsite... excellent place to get hounded on fundamentals.

If you stick with it, then look at going out of state if you wish... really had a blast with Paul Howe at CSAT and Larry Vickers. EAG and Magpul are on the short list once the money is right again.

Tim.
