Got all my paperwork together and will send off soon. It's weird though... I signed up for the GCA which is supposed to automatically notify CMP of membership. Today I tried to order some carbine ammo and its saying I can't because of membership qualifications. I guess I can fax my receipt for the GCA, but it's a bit of a bummer. Maybe it's the weekend and will go through tomorrow?

Sent the paperwork for a service grade HRA on 1/2. Used copies of CRPA card and CA DL, actual copy of birth cert. from the county and highpower rifle match results. Hoping to see an email confirmation from them in the next week or two.

Does CMP send you an email once they receive the order or do they just advise once order is being processed? Im being hella impatient.

They don't notify the CMP that you renewed in the sense you're thinking. They just email the CMP a copy of their database once a week, so the CMP can look you up if they need to. But the CMP doesn't have any automated way of seeing what changed, so they only do that if requested. Most of their customers are one time only apparently. So if you're a regular you always should email the CMP when you renew your membership and they look it up the next day and you'll be ready to roll when something cool comes out.

The GCA does notify CMP of your membership if you checked the box on the application that you want them to.
If you didnt check it they will not inform them

I did. They didn't.

I contacted CMP customer service and they straightened it out though.

Best not to think about it...

"It is not enough in a situation of trust in the commonwealth, that a man means well to his country; it is not enough that in his single person he never did an evil act, but always voted according to his conscience, and even harangued against every design which he apprehended to be prejudicial to the interests of his country. This innoxious and ineffectual character, that seems formed upon a plan of apology and disculpation, falls miserably short of the mark of public duty. That duty demands and requires that what is right should not only be made known, but made prevalent; that what is evil should not only be detected, but defeated. When the public man omits to put himself in a situation of doing his duty with effect it is an omission that frustrates the purposes of his trust almost as much as if he had formally betrayed it. It is surely no very rational account of a man's life, that he has always acted right but has taken special care to act in such a manner that his endeavours could not possibly be productive of any consequence."

The "Flag/Garand" pic I adopted. It is IIRC a CMP Correct Grade w/ USGI stock.

The perspective-view "rack" pic OTOH looks to be of all CMP walnut. Given the fresh park, probably Service Grade Specials.

Okay, I just received my DBU from the CMP! They received my order on 1/2 so it took 15 days from order receipt to acknowledgment of order.

I placed an online order 12/2 for the Greek HXP.. They shipped it 1/16. Looks about 2-3 weeks. I figure they did not get back into the office until the 3rd of January and had to start processing orders.

Just checked the USPS website. My order was received at 1:29 PM today. I pick up a brand new rifle tomorrow and the anticipation is nothing compared to waiting for the M1.

They recieved mine on 1/7. They were backed up with thousands and might not be wasting time with DBU. People have been saying they went to check for ammo and bam they had rifle in the e-store. Be patient it will be worth it in the end
