Update: Received an email today (10/7/2013) from CMP stating that they're putting RM1SPECIALs on back order and that they may not come off until sometime next year. They said they can process a RM1308SPECIAL if I want to change my order. I took their offer under the assumption that they'll process my order now. If not, then hopefully I can still get it before the new year unlike my 0% chance with the .30-06 version.

For what it is worth regarding switching from SG HRA to SG SA, I did that with two I had on order and promptly received 2 WWII made rifles (400,xxx and 1.6 million serial numbers) both with GI wood. One had original finish, the other was reparked at some point, however both had <2 for both TE and ME, and I was very pleased with them. Do I regret my decision, not at all. Would I be interested in trading someone a Service Grade WWII SA for a SG HRA before 12/31/13 to add some diversity, quite possibly!

When did you place the order? Just because you got an email saying the order was recieved, doesnt mean that it was placed under your account. Once its recieved and your information is input into the system (an account is created for you), your paperwork then goes to sales where they are working through all the orders before you. They will put your order in under your account when they get to your paperwork and it will show up. Dont fret if you dont see it right now if you just recently sent in your order.

Order sent for HRA M1Garand, Service Grade 9-20
email: Order Received 10-09

Just glad to know they have received and verified the paperwork.

The email said to expect 60-90 days from placement of the order

We will see just how long it will take ...

Your 6 digit field grade has a better TE/ME rating than my 6 digit service grade. The only foreseeable difference is mine came with new CMP walnut.

That's what I was told by Definie at CMP. Bummer, I know. Figured if I want to convert it back to .30-06 I can buy a new Criterion barrel and remove the .308 plug from the magazine.

Just picked up my order via FedEx

Order # 4775XX, two SG HRA, sticky for good shooters with USGI wood

Order mailed: 07/08/13

Order received: ?

DBU: never got one

EStore: 7/30/13

Cc hit: 10/01/13

delivered:10/10/13

About 92 days total.

These are my first Garands. Ended up with serials 5505XXX and 5641XXX. Really nice HRA furniture--one has almost no marks, but is pretty heavy in Cosmo. Both have SA bolts. Both MR 1+, TR 2+.

I'd like to tear each down and see what the parts are. Anyone have a link to guide me through the process and help me understand what the parts makings mean? I'm pretty psyched,

Hard to believe these were $650 delivered with a case. Kind of sad that after Jan 1 it's an FFL or 03 plus COE plus reg fees. Seems unamerican.

Can't wait to shoot them. I'll post pics when I can take some and upload.

I was hoping for one the same year as either of my grandfathers joined up for WWII, but I got right between them. One joined in Feb. of '41 and the other in April of '43. Either way, she's beautiful to me.

My Garand arrived today and I'm happy! I didn't really know what to expect but this is exactly what I've been looking for. The stock looks great and the action is nice and smooth. I can't be happier with how quickly I got this gun, only 31 days! Anyways, here are some quick pictures I took. Can't wait to get it to the range to see how it shoots!

Your field grade is nicer than both my HRA SG's
One has so much surface corrosion I am going to have to re parkerize it right away.

Does anyone know of any online clubs where I can get proof of membership immediately to try and get in order in ASAP?

CRPA is several weeks, Garand Collectors Association is "6-8 weeks."

CMP can still "probably" get a rifle here in time, so...

My GCA card arrived in less than a week (paid online in early Sept). That 6-8 week wait is probably from earlier this year.
