Default Need to sell my AR15...need price

I am not trying to take advantage of the current mania, but my son is headed off to Berkeley for college in Jan. so I need to sell some things that are sitting in my gun safe w/out being used much...not looking to gouge, but seems like a good time to sell. Here is the build, with about 250 rounds down the pipe:

Upper is Daniel Defense XV M4 carbine upper

* Upper Receiver: A4 Upper Receiver with M4 Feed Ramps
* Barrel: 16″ Cold Hammer Forged, 5.56 NATO Chamber, 1:7 Twist, Chrome Lined, Mil Spec Heavy Phosphate Coated, HP and MPI tested
* Complete Upper Weight: 4 lbs 8 ozs
* Bolt Carrier Group: F/A BCG, HP and MPI Tested, Shot Peened Bolt, Extractor Booster, Properly Staked Gas Key
* Flash Hider: A2 Bird Cage Flash Hider
* Sights: A1.5 Fixed Rear Sight; F Marked Front Sight Base
* Rail System: Omega X 12.0 FSP
* Vertical Grip: Daniel Defense Vertical Grip
* Surefire scout light
* Trijicon TA11F Chevron reticle (comes w/pelican case)

Lower is a Mega Billet lower with low serial count assembled with milspec buffer tube , etc. Magpul ACS buttstock. All black as you can see. Also includes the matching upper receiver so you can either build another upper or swap the DD receiver. also CAL15-BS maglock.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated so that I can post it in the marketplace at the right price. Thx!

Part it out a bit, you'll get more. Worth the extra effort.

Start at $4k and bring it down $100/day

How much of a hassle do you want? Quick and easy sell all together. You'll probably get 28-3000 from someone without even trying and I'm probably being conservative. I would throw it on gunbroker probably get 5k. I understand trying to be a nice guy. If it was a buddy/good friend, family ok I get it. Someone you don't know at all ........? Besides the more money you get the more you can help YOUR son. Yes it seems callous of me to say this and I'm sure someone is gonna take offense to the "gouging" I'm condoning.

...btw, also plan on selling 1000 rounds of 5.56x45mm NATO 62 Grain SS109 XM855 FMJ, which I can include into a deal. Need to check out Gunbroker, never sold anything there before. Thx again!

$3,000 - $3,500 EASY. Might be better if sold in pieces the BCG alone could get you as much as $500.

You could easily ask for $4k easily in this market, and I garuntee you could walk away with minimum $3,500.

Well this is confusing...so just listed it in the marketplace at $4500, not really interested in parting it out...very nice build and I never thought that I would let it go. BTW, that Trijicon is absolutely superb, able to hit golf balls at 100 yards easily. Thanks to everyone for the feedback...let's see what happens.

Put it on Gunbroker. Start with a 7 day auction and set your reserve around $4500, that way if you hit your reserve, good...if not, your not forced to sell at undesired price. Like a couple others said, not to condone the mania right now, but if you can cash in and help your son, i say do it....

Agreed.

Members of CGN are less likely to panic buy. But it's a whole different story on GB... People are going bonkers. There is an LGS selling a Colt for $3k here in SD, so getting $4.5k for your rig should be easy ( with the right audience of course).
