Default Brass vs Steel Cased Ammo- EPIC Torture Test by Luckygunner

Phenomenal ammo test from luckygunnner. Finally some light has been shed on an age old question of brass vs steel. A must read!

4 bushmaster carbines
40,000 rounds expended
Failures, erosion, pressure, accuracy and more tested.

Indepth article, pics, numbers, charts and much much more.
http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/bras...el-cased-ammo/
Short vid at beginning explains the whole test to wet your appetite for reading, or all the info needed for those with a reading allergy.

Great job luckgunner.

a great find! Very good stuff. Exactly as I figured. Even IF you shoot that much, you can replace the barrel every 4,000 rounds cheaper than shooting the American Brass. (a sad statistic)

Yep. I wonder if those SAME results can be had from 7.62x39 rounds and Ak variants...

Looks like they have another test to do.

Well, that settles it! No more brass vs. steel threads needed. Brass > Steel, no doubt about it.

If your life depends on it, buy brass cased ammo. If plinking and don't mind a few failures (99.91% reliability vs 100% reliability), buy steel.

I read that whole thing. Pretty good actually. If I didn't reload I probably would switch to steel case being that the barrel is cheaper to replace than the ammo to shoot it out.

Same here. Reloading pretty much solves the equation personally.
