Default Looking to buy, your used AR Lower 80% Jig.

Looking for a complete jig to include top, side plates and plate to cut bottom of trigger. Will be using my drill press and not a mill. Although, I may try using an end mill to finish. Perhaps you can "package" a 80%" lower. I have one on order but everyone is backed up 6, 8, 10 weeks. Someone out there has a jig used once or twice and collecting dust.

I have one from Tactical Machining. Used once. You can have it for FREE... on the condition that you'd be open to the idea of giving it forward and handing it off to someone else who may need one in the future.
Where are you located? Pick up in Simi Valley or I can ship it if you cover the cost.

I guess I'm forth in line for the jig. I would also like to add or offer the availability of my mill for a few people & a jig. If they were to show up @ my shop in Temecula (92590) on like a sat. Preferably before the end of the month. I have a run of parts going to get hard anodized & try put get my lower in with the other pieces.

Wow! I originally replied to this thread since I did not want to see a new member suffer from the price gouging that's been going on, but definitely did not expect this kind of response.

Anyways, I unfortunately couldn't get in contact with the OP so the jig is now on its way to cswnow, who I assume will be sending it to hawaii five-0.

I am in san fernando valley and would like to borrow jig. I have a mill with xyz readout and power feeds. Waiting for some lowers. I have the specs and was going to make my own drill jig from scratch. Have more time than money. If I get jig will pass it on to any calgunner.

billet80.com has replacement jig tops for TM jigs for $13 for all three. You'll probably need those if your borrowing a jig.

Hi guys,

I came here specifically looking for any build parties in my area (central valley) or if there was anybody that would rent their jig out. If I could get on the pass it along list I would really appreciate it and would gladly buy the replacement pieces. I'll priority mail it from me to whomever would be after me in line.

I have a buddy who has a buddy who has a jig but loaned it to a friend etc. so not sure when I would get it. I have a good drill press and good bits, (I actually have access to a milling attachment on an old lathe but the learning curve means I'm just going to use the press).

Thanks guys.
Red
PS
being new if you guys want to skip me no hurt feelings.

I now have the jig. Just arrived today. We are in the process of ordering the material to duplicate it, then I will gladly pass it on. This jig has all the required parts. All 3 insert plates, etc. It will be good for someone with just a drill press or manual mill. We have the CNC machines to duplicate it. Then it will be on its way.

Bumjim should be next, but I don't think he has his 80% lowers. Please correct me if I am wrong. Hawaii five-0 was next in line if Bumjim doesn't mind. Bumjim should get it when his lowers arrive since he started all this generosity. Just my 2 cents.

I think that this jig takes a drill bit and then you can clean up with an end mill correct? Can anybody tell me which end mill, I'll go ahead and order one so I'm ready. Thanks gents.

Ok, Looks like I'm 8th on list so by time it gets to me maybe my buddy will get the other one. Still, some organization can't hurt. I was told it take about 1-1.5 hours so pass around should move pretty fast.

Here is the list as I have it:
1. Bumjim
2. cswnow
3. hawaii five-0
4. Railer
5. Sivartius
6. G Wilikers (has his lower)
7. edgerly779
8. Dago Red
9. Jet Setter
10. ar15sf
11. Dulljay
12. wecf
13. Gator9329

How about in the interest of time we update the list with who has their lower in hand and is ready to go, rather than have the jig sitting with somebody waiting for things? Then we can come back around to those guys in order as their stuff arrives? I don't mind paying shipping to me and then to the next guy.

I have my lower in hand, and can't see how I'd need the jig for more than 48 hours max. Of course if I get access to another one sooner I'll drop off the list.

For me this is the last thing holding my build up

I have been contacted by a few people about this jig.The jig has not made it to me yet, and I'm certainly not pressing the people ahead of me to hurry. While cutting the lower is pretty quick, some are replicating the jig,and others need time to book an appointment on a machine. When I get it, I will let it be known. When I pass it on, I will let it be known. I'm in Sacramento, as is the person behind me. Thanks

I would love to be added as #14 in line if possible.

I'm looking for other sources for the Jig as well. Should I find one Ill start another loaner thread as soon as I am done since it looks like there is quite a bit of interest.

U can remove me from the list. Another member sent me a jig. I plan on a couple sat in Feb for about 10 people to "use" my mill. I have one now, but have 11 more paper weights on order that should be ready by the end of Jan.

Thanks, G.

Default AR-15 Drill/Mill Jig Collaborative - San Francisco Bay Area

I'd be interested to know if there are people located in the San Francisco Bay area
who are looking to complete an AR-15 lower and need a Jig. I'm just looking to recoup
a few bucks for the jig and help out my fellow gun enthusiast.

We could setup a location and have a work party where the jig(s) and drill
press(es) would be available for a nominal fee. Depending on interest we may
be able to purchase additional drill press and jig(s) for use by the collaborative (Borg?).

The average cost for jig and a 80% lower are approaching $500. Rather stiff investment just
for the lower. IF this option was available to me I would of gladly plopped down $50 or
more to 'get ur done'.

I checked into rental services. The only one I fond in my area requires a class and then
$175 a month. A bit of an overkill and expensive. Maybe if I was doing a lot and needed
access to CNC, lathe, mill, etc.

If there is sufficient interest I'll start a mailing list and we can kick around ideas.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a lawyer and have no idea of the legality of this. I have heard
of places like this where you can use equip to bend 'frames' etc. so it may be ok.
I have not cleared this with CNCGUNS.COM. They may not allow this if it cut's into their
sales. We could offer up a per unit fee ($5) to sweeten the pot. Perhaps they may offer
a couple up if it generates some review.

The Jig should be in Hawaii-Five-0's possession.

You seriously don't need a jig to do this at all. In my opinion it's easier without the jig. You do need DRO mill, which I realize not everyone has. We also have CNC machines as well. Just go online and find the lower drawing. It is widely available. It has complete dimensions. Easily done without a jig. Everything is measured off the front rotating pin and all the dimensions for depth is there. Just my opinion.
