Default $5 Toys for Tots raffle tickets (Springfield handguns) - Updated with winning numbers

As some of you might know TASC (www.tasc-ipsc.org) holds a yearly IPSC/USPSA sanctioned charity match called The Bay Bridge Charity Classic (http://tasc-ipsc.org/charity.html) to raise money for the USMC Toys for Tots program. Over the last 13 years the match has raised well over $100000 in cash and toys for the campaign.

This year there will also be a general raffle that anyone can enter to help raise money. The raffle will have two Springfield 1911s, two 9mm XDs and two .40 XDs for prizes. The raffle tickets are $5 each and you don't have to be present or attend the match to win.

To help sell tickets and raise money for this event I'm offering some of the raffle tickets to the Calguns crowd.
You can pay me with cash, MO, check or paypal and if you provide me with your address I'll send the tickets (except the stub that goes into the hat) to you on my expense. If you don't want/need the tickets mailed to you, I'll give you the numbers and hold on to the tickets and make sure you get notified if you win. If you're not local to the Bay Area I'll give you a hand with the shipping as well.

For $5 you get a chance of winning a nice Springfield handgun and at the same time you're supporting a good cause.

Worst case, you support Toys for Tots, best case, you win a new handgun. What do you have to lose?

Thanks for your support!

edit:
Please include your address in a pm, or with the payment, if you want the tickets shipped.

Just to avoid confusion, this was asked about before posting and heartily approved.

Thread stuck for a good cause!

Do you know what would happen if someone under 21 wins this raffle. Is there maybe a second place prize that is a rifle or something else. If not it is cool I will still get a ticket, I always donate to the toys for tots when it gets closer to christmas, they always have the Marine Reserves asking for the toys, So I go and talk to them and donate a toy.

How many tickets will be sold? What are the odds of winning?

I spent 8 and a half years in a youth program that is funded by the Marines and the MCL. I became a SGT MAJ. I could have joined the marines. But for many reasons I dedided to join the National Guard. I have already started my weekends with the guard. I still think that the marines are the best. The marines have so much more pride then any other branch.

I don't do paypal, so email sent for pay instructions for 4 tickets. Is there a cap on the total number of tickets to be sold for this particular raffle, or is it unlimited? Hey yeah I know guys, as has been said, all goes to a good cause anyway which is great, but just like to know details, so shoot me.

EDIT, thanks for the email, the check's going out today via mollusk mail, thanks for all of your effort that you're putting into this for the kids!

To answer some questions...

There are 1500 tickets and we'll try to sell as many as possible (hopefully all of them), but the raffle (with all six guns) will be held at the match, even if all tickets aren't sold.

Transfer fees and shipping are not included. If you're not local to the Bay Area, I'll help you with the shipping, but you would have to pay for it (as well as transfer fees) yourself.

As to the unit, I have no idea. The match webpage says "For the history of the match, TASC has been one of the largest contributors to the Santa Clara County Toys for Tots program", but I'm not sure if that helps

The drawing will be held the match day (10/27).

I'll stop selling tickets a couple of days before the match, or when I'm out.

We (TASC) are NOT a non profit organisation.....Be careful about using this as a tax write off.

It's now been a month since I posted this and the response has by far exceeded my wildest expectations! The match/drawing is still five weeks away and you guys have already bought more tickets than I expected to sell in total!

A big thanks to everyone!

So far you guys bought just over 200 tickets!
A big THANK YOU from me and the rest of the match crew to all of you.

For those that haven't bought tickets yet, I picked up a batch with another 50 tickets that I was hoping to sell before the match, so here's another chance to get some raffle tickets!

Please PM me for paypal, or address (if you don't like paypal).

The match is two weeks and some days away, so I'll accept payments by mail until the end of next week, after that it will be paypal only until the day before the match (or I sell out).

Thanks again.
