Default Have any LEO's spouses been successful in obtaining a CCW?

Just out of curiosity. The notion popped in my head today and was just curious.

I doubt any will be given in any major cities and there has to bee good cause. such as the officer has a "green light" just an example or an open threat, getting followed home or his family that seems like the suspect would follow through on.

Orange County Sheriff doesn't consider it a good enough reason.

Being "Green Lit" is not enough to get a CCW for spouse. I had this exact situation in the past and it did nothing to help my wife get a permit. LA county doesn't care.

Did you make any contributions to the Sheriff's favorite charity or are you a celebrity or prominent business man?

No?

Then good luck.

You are so cynical. But it is the absolute truth and you left out political contributions to his re-election campaign. Less than 500 in a county of almost 10 million and when interviewed a few years ago, he stated that was reasonable.

By his favorite charity... I do mean his campaign... after all, it's the gift that keeps giving.

I'm applying next month, I'll let you know how it goes. It varies based on city and county, I'm sure. There are places in CA right now where being a LEO spouse isn't even necessary to get a CCW. I'm hoping it's at least taken into consideration when I apply as if being a resident of this fine city isn't good cause enough.

Fresno County is giving them away. Just pass all the back ground, and gun class and its yours. Takes about 2 months. Signed my wife up for next weeks gun class. She was all excited.
