Default When the yelling stops..........

Folks,

When all of the hyperbole, yelling, and empty headed ranting stops is when the real work begins. The Second Amendment is now a Supreme Court defined Right. It is now incorporated to all of us via the 14th Amendment.
Feinstein/McCarthy and all of the morons in both Congress/California legislative bodies can say that they will do this, pass that bill. But the fact still stands, it is our RIGHT. And as these bills are passed, they will be fought, and defeated. Emotion and knee jerk solutions will go nowhere, controversy does not trump our rights. Yes, something needs to be done, but I as a gun-owner, will not be used as a scapegoat for this boys action. I will use my 1st Amendment Right to speak, I will exercise my Second Amendment Right to defend my family/hunt/target practice. And use my treasure to fight the likes of Feinstein/McCarthy/Yee.
African Americans/LGBT/Latinos and many other groups have used the system to overcome prejudice, discrimination, and unfair practices. So will we as a group, just because someone does not like us, does not give them a right to **** on us. STAND FIRM, A2

Well said.
Ban ATTEMPTS are coming no doubt. But an attempt doesn't always equate into law.
Time will tell.

I won't wager on bans actually becoming a reality, but what about taxation? They may not be able to take the guns or ability to buy them away, but MAYBE they can make it so expensive and difficult to buy, keep and maintain them that a lot of us will get pushed out of the sport...

You make dangerous assumptions, OP. We all thought that Obamacare would never make it through SCOTUS, and yet a Bush appointee of incredible legal intellect contorted himself to interpret that bill into a tax, which he then found legitimate, and here we are today with the largest socialist scheme in our laps since Lyndon B. Johnson-----courtesy of a "conservative". The 2nd may not be challenged, but mark my words, assault rifles are history. If available at all, they will be like Class III firearms.

It's over. They zombies are in control.

You cannot tax a right. Not without a lot of beating around the bush. And I mean a hell of a lot of beating around the bush. Its not going to happen. The only firearm tax that will ever be will be commercial license taxes for manufactures, redistributers, and retailers, which will be kept at the same costs to other non gun companies.

They won't come out and take away our 2nd Amendment right, but they will start limiting what we can buy or own, therefore not taking it away entirely but reducing it little by little...what we need is to start educating people and pointing out obvious flaws in their logic through reasonable calm discussions. No more talking about protection from the federal government lol, they don't like that...but we can talk about how it's just a firearm like any other and the only differences are cosmetic amongst a few other things.

We need to educate those that don't know and show them that we're really normal people just like them...

I dont know about you but CA has had a AWB since 1989 and Ar15 and Ak platforms are sold in USA. None of the weapons we have today are assualt weapons. Idiots that are uneducated in this subject dont know the true definition of assualt weapons. If anything and AWB will make the rest of the country feel CA pain.

I don't know. It has been a while since I have been in constitutional law classes, and I haven't kept up with the recent court rulings. I can only hope the courts would see this as an obvious infringement of our rights. A permit, for ammo? Come on now. At least I reload so hopefully wouldnt be affected.
