Default New Gun laws??

Mods if this is in the wrong place please move. Anyway, one of my coworkers recently purchased a AR15 pistol based on a 7 inch HK upper. When she bought it the gunshop she bought it from told her that as of Jan 2013 we couldn't get them any more. Today at work we tried all afternoon to find any reference to any new gun laws taking effect this comming Jan 2013. Can anyone shed any light on this ?

It would help if the gunshop was able to to cite PC and or new law verbatim. Nothing that I know of. Most gunshops know close to nothing about gun laws and are major dispensers of FUD.

No such law local or federal.
Taking most things regarding legalities that come from gun shops is like asking a drug dealer for health advice.

And what HK upper? Only short barrel upper of theirs I am currently aware of is the 416 which is in the 10inch range, stupid expensive and nigh impossible to locate these days.

FUD... Although I have no doubt we'll be in for a variety of BS from the legislature in 2013 and 2014 so better start saving those cell phone minutes to call your rep and get ready to start writing letters... I haven't seen Yee for instance state he's given up on going after bullet buttons, I would feel comfortable betting in Vegas on him bringing back come 2013. Thanks to Yee my safe now has an AK and more lowers !

Good to ask, but no, no new laws in 2013 that do what that LGS person claims.

As already noted, it's good to ask 'how do you know?' and 'what part of the law, EXACTLY, was changed to do what you say?'
[Carol Ann voice]The Legislature is baaa-ack .... [/Carol Ann voice]

There is no value at all complaining or analyzing or reading tea leaves to decide what these bills really mean or actually do; any bill with a chance to pass will be bad for gun owners.

The details only count after the Governor signs the bills.
