Default Saiga handguard venting

I want to 'vent' my Saiga factory handguard like this:

http://centerfiresystems.com/SAI-762HC-CEN.aspx

Centerfire says they do not do this venting.

Does anyone know who does?

Does anyone have a reliable template for vents that I could modify to this design?

Looks pretty easy to do. Make your own template, or use masking tape, layout your slots, pilot drill the ends and a few in between then break out a dremil and some small files.

Thanks. Never did this before. Working on making a high-res image of that guard into a printable template.

There are guys on the saiga12 forum who will vent your handguard

Cobra makes a steel HG that is vented or they can vent the OEM handguards

Thanks. Nobody seems to be doing what I want to do.
I decided to make my own template and will hopefully get to do it with the help of someone I met on this forum.

Very cool. I look forward to pics

As many people toss the factory HG when they convert, you should be able to pick up extra sets to test different designs.

Looks like a job for a milling machine, I have done many barrel cooling vents on match/long range rifles to aid cooling.

No I don't, I basically taped the handguard and measure from the top edge and draw a line. I used a small carbide porting tool to cut through the plastic, and a small sanding drum to smooth it out.
