When I found out how easy it was to obtain a handgun/rifle within 10 (actually 11 days) and I started getting a better salary at work, and had free time.... my gun addiction began.

Had an interest in guns my whole, mainly due to pellet/bb guns. But what really sparked my interest was clay shooting with some friends, which led to target shooting, but now I am mainly into hunting which has really got me spending.

My dad always had guns and he got me into them. I have loved them since I was a little kid.

My father and my uncles were shooters. Back in North Dakota it was just considered a normal part of life. I started shooting when I was around 8 or 9. Did seven years in the Army starting when I was 18, and my love of guns and shooting and hunting has stayed with me to this day.

I always liked guns, just couldn't afford one and didn't really know what was good/decent/bad. I started watching NCIS and fell in love with Sig's. Went and got a railed P229 then found out I can legally own an AR type rifle and got lost in the firearms world...

Rabbit hunting with my Dad and 3 beagles, I was 6 and lusted after Dad's 1954 Belgium Browning Sweet Sixteen. To me it's what all other shot guns are judged by, but now I prefer to hunt with a single shot 1962 savage or an old savage model 24 410/22

Shooting BB guns in the backyard with my dad and older brother. One advantage of having an older brother is that I got exposed to things at a much younger age. My dad bought me a Crossman M1 bb gun when I was maybe 6.

I've always been fascinated with guns since before i can remember. In my eyes, guns are art as much as they are tools and entertainment.

My dad always had guns, and I have been shooting since I was big enough to hold one up. The first rifle I ever shot was a Remington 12C .22, and the first revolver was a 9 shot H&R Sportsman .22 (double action). I still have them today...

My wife says that I have "too many" guns. Can anyone explain to me exactly what that means?

I am sure she has "too many" of something.

I like the Midway commercials... the wife always ask how many a man needs but is always wearing a different pair of shoes.

Red Rider. I spent so much time with that thing. Killed a million aluminum cans. Then it was a 22. Then a 5906. After that the flood gates were opened. Too bad they were all lost at sea.

I was 10yrs old and I asked my dad if he owned any guns. He said he had a pistol and asked if i wanted to go shooting. We went to an indoor range and it was so sick. He started buying more guns after he saw how much I liked it. Then when turned 18 I started buying my own guns so I could practice more.

Honestly I feel like I'd say "being born" as well, not facetiously, I just cant remember a time when I was not obsessed with guns. I started shooting BB guns in Cub Scouts at 7 or 8 but I was already engrossed by then. My parents have been anti's my whole life, no one in my family is a "real" gun owner (both my grandfathers have a pistol I believe, but they don't shoot or talk about them). I was just born lucky I suppose.

My dad loved guns. I remember when I was little he showed me his AR15 before he took me to school. I thought it was the coolest thing. I had so many toy guns as a kid.
My siblings hate guns or are not interested in them. My dad already told me I get them all and has been giving me one a year so he can see me enjoy them. What a dad!

My dad brought me skeet shooting a 16 gauge shotgun when I was about 11 or 12. Hit every one they threw out. Handling the shotgun and the excitement of taking aim and popping those clay pigeons is one memory I will take to my grave. Honestly, later on I never even really got into skeet shooting as sport or anything after that. It's just that one moment when I really knew guns were something exciting and empowering. Shortly after that, same year, I received my first .22lr rifle. I put maybe 1000 rounds though it and again that next summer we went to a gun show and bought more. Then I remember reading Shotgun News and thinking "I want that and this and this" never having cash or ability because of my age to buy most of it. Now I do and I bought the shotgun I wanted and Desert Eagle I drooled over throughout my childhood in the 90's.
