talk to seesm, as long as he doesnt flake, its an experience well worth it. and since its a manual mill, you wont get caught up in the cnc drama.

I am also in the same boat... I have two 80% lowers that were intended for finishing with the great Dr. and waited too long. Please PM me if you are in Northern CA and have the necessary machinery, know of an upcoming build party, or know the contact info for someone who does. Thanks.

I've never flaked on anyone. My dog actually died. (which I told you... I can send dead dog pics if need be)
And for future reference I do not allow anyone to use or rent any of my equipment anymore. ATF is even messing with manual mill people.

What do you mean by "ATF is even messing with manual mill people?" Do you mean possessors of manual mills who are finishing the 80% receivers of others? Or do you mean that the ATF is harassing citizens who loan or rent their mills for others to complete their own receivers? If it is the latter then it is actionable as these activities are entirely legal and not in any "gray area" of the law. Now whether it would be worth someone's time and money to do something about it is another question entirely.

BTW, the ATF going after CNC operations isn't limited to non-gun friendly CA. I will be in OK for around a week and I started looking for somewhere that I could use a CNC machine to finish the four paperweights I have. The ATF is going after CNC operations in OK also. While OK isn't as gun-friendly as TX, it isn't too far away and it's happening there also. It appears some poor bugger in OKC bought a huge CNC machine capable of completing eight lowers simultaneously with the intention of completing lowers for people. He hasn't been heard from since the middle of July on any of the gun forums he frequented.

I wonder how long it'll be before the ATF rules you have to use a flint chisel and rock to legally complete your own firearm w/o a license?

I don't see what the big deal is if you can't find a build party.
It doesn't take rocket science to finish a lower.
On 80% lowers most of the hard work's already been done!

Lot's of guys out there finished a lower just fine without a CNC or manual mill.

If there is anyone free to assist me with my 80% AR lower in the El Dorado Hills area, I would be pleased with a PM. I am also willing to travel to West Sac.

Greetings ATF agent.

Mill it yourself or use it as a paper weight.

Need a lower , You can get one at the LGS . I like how people join and ask this. If you want to know how to build one , get a job in a Machine shop ,work overtime , 21 days in a row like me , Buy a 10.000$ set of tools and then go to Turners and buy a Anderson lower for 80.00$ . And one more thing ,Use safety glasses .

The only person I finish 80% lowers for is myself. On my own milling machine. On my own time. Out of aluminum. With a bullet button and a 10 round mag.

And I'm over 21, sane and not a felon.

Anything else is asking for trouble.
