Default Colt USMC M45 for public sale

So I read somewhere recently that Colt will be making the M45 for civilian market which excites me. I'd love to own one so I was stumbling around gun broker and saw this!

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=320512694

The seller is obviously trying to pull a quick one and take advantage of someone before they become readily available.

For someone who's awfully close enough to score one, the seller ought to know better than calling those Wilson Combat "clips." Seller also misspelled Trijicon. Well, what did I expect, just someone trying to turn a fast buck off some sucker with deep wallets.

Quote:
Comes with the case, 2 wilson combat clips, Trigicon night sights, a lock and the quality control tag from the factory.
But if they really are issuing these with Wilsons, that would be pretty cool once overrun/surplus Wilsons start showing up.

These Colt Rail Gun variants have a dual recoil spring assembly like the Delta Elites.

I could spend 2.8 K on a better (to me) 1911.

The pistols submitted for testing were cracking at the frame where the Picatinny section starts.

Another stupid comment from someone who thinks they know everything.
One big thing they have a national match barrel and have to shoot sub 2" groups at 25 yards.

Not sure but I don't think the ones the MARSOC boys are getting have the huge COLT USMC on the slide.

I laughed at the "clips" thing also and I have feeling the seller really isn't a Marine either for the simple fact he said "jar-head" could be wrong though.

I completely agree about buying a better 1911 for close to 3k also I'm sure when these become available at the LGS they will be much more affordable.

I catch myself thinking occasionally that as a society we've accomplished so much, and then I read a post like this.

A $1000 Colt 1911 "Rail Gun" is fundamentally the same weapon and is significantly less expensive.

No never even considered it, I just recently read that Colt is going to start offering the model to the general public. I will wait I'm sure in less than 6 months or so they will be readily available for a fraction of that.

The only thing I like about the M45 is the Barrel/Unique Feed Ramp. That's it.

Apart from the laughable asking price I wouldn't buy it because IMHO rails on pistols destroy the look of the pistols profile.

In the other forum, that was asked, Colt said they added a little meat on that part and also the rail is some what different with the commercial Colt RG.

I'm not a 1911 owner, so am not that versed on them.

Tell me though, what's with the finish on that gun?

If you look closely at it (bottom edge of the slide, inside of the hammer, in front of the serial number, etc.), it looks, "thin" in a few areas, like a lousy powder-coating job.

Yep.

I'd rather keep my Series 70 Colt National Match and spend the $2800 on something else.

Very cool good looking out on the video, even better than I thought. Problem is they'll still need a good price point kind of sounds like with all the "hand fitting" "1" group" and "accessories" they're aiming high but in that price range they need to checker the front strap.

I don't care: I'll be tossing a pair of Pachmayrs on mine.

Model is o1070cqb.

Davidsons has the listing for it:

http://www.galleryofguns.com/genie/d...?item=O1070CQB

MSRP is $2K.

Grabagun

http://grabagun.com/handguns/semi-au...er-ns-8rd.html

...has it for <$1800.

So the real question is: is it worth the premium over the TRP in terms of VFM? How much work does the custom shop do?

I want one regardless.

In CA it might cost you a few $$ to own one...figure about $2200 out the door with Tax, SSE fees, transfer fees, DROS if you bought one off of Grab A Gun.

Might not get that for a used one a couple of years from now.

But you probably won't lose too much.

Personally, I have a safe full of 1911's but that one is not high on my list...just not my style. I would pull the trigger on a O2580CM for that kinda money.

I owned a Colt Rail Gun, sold it. It was the worst 1911 I have ever owned or shot! Just my opinion of course.

As long as my LGS continues not to charge for SSE and they're pretty cheap on transfers I'm sure I could get one OTD for less than 2k. I have a couple of 1911s none with rails though, I like the combat special but the whole Marine aspect is why I dig the CQB.

I've heard mixed review about the Colt rail gun but from what I've read and the video I just watched this is not a Colt rail gun.
