Default Applied for my LTC yesterday

Finally had a day off during the week, so I stopped by the local SO.

I had printed out the application online & had it filled out before hand. There was 1 additional page in the packet the lady handed me. So all I had to do was sign the one page & she put it all together for me.

3 sets of initials, 3 thumb prints & then the live scan.

6-8 weeks til I get my letter in the mail, is what I was told.

Good on ya! I just go approved today. From the day I dropped off the application to the day I recieved my live scan results was 3 weeks and a day. I got the results in the mail yesterday, 12.5.12
Called the sheriffs office today to see if I could get in on Friday, was told to show up today. Had a short conversation with the sheriff and about 20 minutes later I was on my way. next in line is getting qualified.
Just a heads up. When asked about reasons to carry I did add that now that california has made it illegal to open carry I thought it would be best to persue this option.
Hope all goes well for you.

Thanks for the heads up.

For my "Good Cause" statement I just put down that I work out of town a lot, in Remote area's & in the Big City, where bad things do happen to good people. I also mentioned that my family & I do take road trips & camping trips & being able to have a CCW would provide great relief to us, if we were to become stranded along the HWY & some unsavory charactors stopped to take advantage of the situation.

I met Caleb Chinn many years ago when I worked at the Table Mountain Rod & Gun Club in Oroville. I havent seen him since the gun club closed down, so it should be nice to get to see him again & gain some very good training.

I'm going for my CA CCW & the AZ Non Resident CCW which will allow me to carry in Nevada aswell.

Finished the qualification course today.

They were kind enough to refund our money, if we had signed up for the AZ Non Resident class, if we no longer wanted it due to NV no longer recognizing AZ's CCW.

It all went well, I ran into a friend I haven't seen in 10 or 12 years. He's a local LEO now, His wife was in the class & he came along to lend a hand & He ended up being the top shooter in the class.

All in all a pretty good class.

Monday or Tuesday I'll drop it all off at the Sheriff's Office & we'll go from there.

Butte Co. if good for CCW but I'm proud to say that in Stanislaus County there are only two words necessary for good cause, "Personal Protection". If we MUST get a permission slip from the sheriff to exercise out 2A rights it ought to be as simple as that.

Kid, yes it's easy. But it's slow? Been waiting since 2/4 for my interview with an investigator.
