They claim to be better than Mountain House

not better just different. I haven't looked at the calorie count but the tastes are as good.

I got a variety pack from them, they were all very good. On par with what Mountain House is. My only complaint is that some of the directions were a bit more involved than others. The apple crumble and the eggs all require separate pans. The rest are simple by just adding hot water.

I've tried both Mtn House and Backpackers Pantry, and I prefer the Mtn House meals. They just seem to be more flavorful.

I like something from each. Mountain House is typically more ordinary fare and is more hit than miss, a safe and tasty bet. Backpacker's Pantry tends to swing for the fences with more unusual menu items which is sometimes spectacular and other times just so so. No need to limit yourself to two choices, Mary Jane's Farm is another option and browsing the local grocery can turn up some excellent and cheap meals.

I've tried at least 4 different BackPacker's Pantry meals. i didn't like any of them.

I prefer Mountain House, Some Natural High flavors are good too.
